    STOLTZ, G. Garfield - Following a courageous battle with cancer, G. Garfield Stoltz, was called home with the Lord, on Wednesday, Nov. 18,1987, in his 64th year.

    Loving husband of the former Reta Kurt and will be lovingly missed by his family, Gerald and his wife Linda of Baden, Wayne and his wife Joanne of Palmerston, Keith and his wife Jane of Listowel, Kevin and his wife Sheli of Petersburg and Marlin and his wife Diane of Listowel and 12 grandchildren. Predeceased by his only daughter, Lou Ann in 1985 and one sister, Ferne. Dear brother of Gladys, Orkney, Dorothy, Ludena and Miriam.

    Mr. Stoltz was born, raised and worked on the family farm at RR 4, Kitchener, till present day; was a life long member of St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and was treasurer and church councilman for many years; a chartered Member of the Mannheim Optimist club and has been actively involved as a vendor at the Kitchener Farmer's Market for more than 40 years.

    The family will receive friends at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, f001 Ottawa St. S. (at Westmount Rd.), Kitchener, from 7-9 p.m. Thursday (today) and Friday from 2.4 and 7•9 p.m. Removal will be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim, at noon Saturday, Nov. 21; where service will be held at 2 p.m., with Rey. Doug Reble officiating, Interment to follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

    STOLTZ, Reta Ileen 1926-2010 Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, age 84 years. Reta was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Mannheim for over 84 years, a member of the ELW, a vendor at the Kitchener Farmers Market for over 45 years, active with the Wilmot Center Seniors and Super 60's. She loved children and was very proud to be a Foster Parent. Loving wife of the late Garfield Stoltz (November 1987). Dearest mother of Wayne (Rev. Heather), Keith (Jane) all of Listowel, Kevin (Sheli) of Petersburg and Marlin (Diane) of Elmira. Also survived by a brother Clifford Kurt of Elora, sister-in-law Ludena Wiltse of Waterloo, daughter-in-law Linda Stoltz of New Dundee and son-in-law Bob Brown of Ayr. Reta will be sadly missed by 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Hilda (Jacobi) and Albert Kurt, daughter Lou Ann Brown (March 1985), son Gerald (August 1992), daughter-in-law Joanne Stoltz (August 2007) and a sister-in-law Jean Kurt (October 2010). Friends and relatives are invited to share their memories of Reta during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, today (Saturday, October 30, 2010) from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, November 1st from 10-11 a.m at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, 1531 Bridge St., New Dundee. The service to celebrate her life and faith will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 1, 2010 at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, New Dundee. A reception in the church hall will follow the service. Interment will take place in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Mannheim following the reception.     Charles Irvin Stoltz Charles Irvin Stoltz, 59, died Tuesday night at his late residence, R.R. 4, Kitchener. He was the husband of the former Miss Clara Bauman. He was born in Mannheim Jan. 31, 1883, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob F. Stoltz, and was a well known Waterloo township farmer. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim.

    He is survived by one son, Gerald, at home, and six daughters, Mrs. L. H. Heubach, and Mrs. Geo. March of Hamilton, Mrs William Veitel and Mrs. Ward Weber of Waterloo Mrs. James Wiltse, Kitchener and Miss Miriam Stoltz, at home, and five brothers, Oliver Stoltz, Plattsville, Louis Heimpel, Montreal, Edward and Gordon Heimpel of Windsor and Wellington Heimpel of Waterloo. Also Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Bert Main, Glenboro, Man., Mrs. William Egerdee, New Dundee and Mrs. John Bowman, New Hamburg and three grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. from his late resi- dence to St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim, at 2.30 p.m... where Rev. A. L. Conrad will officiate. Interment will be in the Mannheim Lutheran Cemetery.

    Mrs. C. Irvin Stoltz of RR 4, Kitchener died today at the K-W hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 82.

    Mrs. Stoltz was the former Clara Bauman, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter S. Bauman. She was born at Zurich, Ont., and had been. a resident of the Twin City area for 52 years.

    Along with her husband, she farmed at RR 4, Kitchener, for many years.

    She was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church, Manheim, the Lutheran Church Women and the Elmdale Women's Institute.

    She was predeceased by her husband in 1943.

    Surviving are one son, G. Garfield of RR 4, Kitchener; six daughters, Mrs. James (Gladys) Walker and Mrs. George (Ferne) March, both of Hamilton, Mrs. William (Orkney) Veitel of Toronto; Mrs. Ward (Dorothy) Weber of Baden, Mrs. James (Ludena) Wiltse of Waterloo and Mrs. Ralph (Miriam) Quehl of Wellesley; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

    She was the last surviving member of her family and was predeceased by six brothers and one sister.

    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel. Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Saturday until noon Mon-day. The service will be conducted at St. James Church by Roy. Richard Holm at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

    MILVERTON-Albert C. Kurt, 63, of Milverton, died Friday at the k-W Hospital after a long illness.

    Born at Shantz Station in Waterloo Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kurt. He farmed at Mannheim for 21 years before moving to Milverton 16 years ago. He worked at the Ebersol Farm Equipment Company, Milverton. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Milverton.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Hilda Jacobi, whom he married at Conestogo in 1925; one son, Clifford A. of RR 2, Elora; one daughter, Mrs. Garfield (Reta) Stoltz of RR 4, Kitchener; two brothers, Harry of Elmira and Julius Muratzke of Baldwin Park, Calif; three sisters, Mrs. Emmanuel Jacky of Drumheller, Alta., Mrs. Herman Gerbig of Berkley, Mich., and Mrs. Clayton Rickert of Breslau; and nine grandchildren. One sister predeceased him.

    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, Kitchener, until Monday noon. The funeral will be conducted at St. James' Lutheran Church, Mannheim, at 3 p.m. Monday by Rev. Luther Eberhart of Milverton. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

    The former Hilda Alberta Jacobi, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jacobi and was born in Conestogo Jan. 30, 1901. She had lived in Mannheim and Milverton, coming to Kitchener six years ago.
    Mrs. Kurt was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Mannheim, and the Lutheran Church Women.
    She was predeceased by her husband in 1962, to whom she was married in Conestogo in 1925; two sisters and one son in infancy.
    Surviving are one son, Clifford of Elora; one daughter, Mrs. Garfield (Reta) Stoltz of Kitchener; one brother, Herman of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Emmanuel (Emma) Foell of Glen Allan and Mrs. William (Edna) Heimpel of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren.
    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Saturday when removal will be made to St. James Church in Mannheim where Rev. Oliver Repo will conduct the service at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
    Donations to the church memorial fund will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    Bauman. - Peter S. Bauman, son of Solomon Bauman, was born in Huron Co., Ont., Nov. 24, 1858; died Mar. 4, 1928; aged 69 y. 3 m. 9 d. On Oct. 19, 1886, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Bender of Hay Twp., where they resided for 8 years, when they moved to Wilmot Twp. To this union were born 6 sons and 2 daughters of whom 2 sons preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his departure his beloved widow, 4 sons, 2 daughters, 14 grandchildren, one brother, one sister, and a host of relatives and friends. He was a faithful member of the Latschar Mennonite Church and was possessed of a kindly disposition. He had been in failing health for the past five years and for the past two years was confined to his home. He bore his illness with Christian fortitude. While desiring to stay a little longer with his family, he resigned to his Master's will and passed peacefully away. Funeral services were conducted by Bro. Manasseh Hallman on Mar. 7, at the Latschar Church. Text, I Cor. 2: 9.

    Mrs. Elizabeth Bauman died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Irvin Stoltz, Waterloo Township, on Monday. Deceased was in her 76th year.

    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Stoltz and Mrs. Alex Faber, of Detroit, and four sons, John in New Hamburg, Soloman and Henry of New Dundee, Herbert of Toronto, and 18 grandchildren.

    The funeral will be held today (Thursday) from the Stoltz residence at 2 o'clock to Latchar Mennonite Church, Mannheim. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery.

    HENRY KURT

    The death of Henry Kurt, 83, occurred suddenly on Sunday at the home of his son, Harry Kurt, R.R. 1, Elmira.

    Born in Germany, Dec. 14, 1865, Mr. Kurt farmed in Mannheim until 1942 when he took up residence with his son. He was a member of St. James's Lutheran Church, Mannheim. His wife died in 1944.

    Surviving are two sons, Albert, Milverton; Harry, Elmira; two step-daughters, Minnie, Detroit; Elizabeth, Alberta; one step-son, Julius, California, and two grand children and. one great grandchild.

    Funeral service was held Wednesday at 2:30 at the Keffer Funeral Home. Interment was made at the Mannheim Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. Henry Schmieder, New Dundee officiated.

    Charles Jacobi

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday from his late residence at Bridgeport, for Charles Jacobi, who died Wednesday evening in his 78th wear. Private service will be held at 2 p.m. to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Conestogo, at 2.30 for public service. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery, with Rev. S. J. Wittig officiating.

    Surviving are his wife, one son, Herman, of Lexington, four daugh- ters, Mrs. H. Geisel, of Breslau, Mrs. E. Foell, of Glenallen, Mrs. A. Kurt, of Mannheim, and Miss Edna Jacobi, at home; one sister, Mrs. Paul Stoneheart, of Kent, Minnesota. Thirteen grandchildren also survive.

    Remains are resting at the Ratz and Bechtel Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Friday.

    CONESTOGO. The death occurred at her late home after a lingering illness on Thursday forenoon, of Mrs. Charles Jacobi, at the age of 74 years.

    The departed, nee Sophia [tombstone and death registration state Friederika] Augustine, was born in the Jerusalem section where she also spent her childhood and a great portion of her married life, the remaining years being spent on the farm between here and Bridgeport. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in this village. The late husband predeceased her by one and one-half years.

    There survive one son, Herman, of Lexington, and four daughters, (Sophie) Mrs. Herman Geisel of Breslau, (Emma) Mrs. Emanuel
    Foell) of Glenallen, (Hilda) Mrs. A. Kurtz, of Mannheim, and (Edna) (Mrs. Wm. Heimpel) on the home farm.

    The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon. A brief service was held at the home followed by the chief service in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and burial on the adjoining cemetery. Rev. S. J. Wittig was in charge of the services.
