    John Wilfred Snyder, died pearefully, at St Mary's General Hospital, on Tuesday afternoon, October 2, 2012, at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lois Buckwalter (1990) and his second wife, Iva Taves (2011). John will be missed by his children, Jed (Michele Dickinson) of Cambridge, Patricia (Christopher Dustin) of Connecticut, Julia (Hans Behrendt) of Germany and granddaughter, Abigail Dustin and Iva's family, Mila, Mark, Jilienne, Caitie, Jacob and Jesse Reusser, Mary Taves and Ruth Fallding. Cremation will take place. The family will receive friends during a memorial visitation at Rockway Mennonite Church, 32 Weber St. W., Kitchener, on Friday, October 5, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate John's life and faith will be held at Rockway Mennonite Church, on Saturday, October 6th at 3: 00 p.m., with Pastor Scott Brubaker-Zehr officiating. A reception will follow in the church's fellowship hall. Private family interment, at Wanner Mennonite Cemetery.

    At K-W Hospital, on Thursday, Aug. 30, 1990, age 64 years, of RR 21, Cambridge. Lois was born, in Heston, Kan. and was a daughter of the late Rose Shank and Earl Buckwalter. Beloved wife of John W. Snyder; dear mother of John E. "Jed" of RR 21, Cambridge, Patricia Snyder and her husband Christopher Dustin of Guilford, Conn. and Julia Snyder of West Berlin, Germany. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Albert Buckwalter and his wife Lois of Argentina and two sisters, Martha and her husband Howard Hershberger of Harper, Kan. and Esther Rose and her husband Ronald Graber of Puerto Rico. Lois was predeceased by one brother, Ralph Buckwalter and one sister, Mrs. Alice Hershberger. A private family service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m., followed by a time of public visitation, from 7-9 p.m., at the family home, 745 Chilligo Road, Cambridge. A public memorial service will be held at Rockway Mennonite Church, on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 3 p.m.

    At Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1987, Lillian N. Snyder, of RR 21, Cambridge, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Oliver A. Snyder (1977), mother of John W. and his wife Lois of RR 21, Cambridge, Robert O. and his wife Beth of Kitchener and James C. predeceased and his wife Mary Ruth of New Jersey; grandmother of John, Patricia, Julia, Olivia, Emily, Jay, Bryan and Kimberley. Mrs. Snyder, was predeceased by a brother, Delton in 1982 and is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice Snyder of Baden. Mrs. Snyder, was born in Wilmot township, the daughter of the late Ervin Snyder and the former Nancy Nahrgang. She was a member of the Wanner Mennonite Church and a strong supporter of many of the church's institutions and programs. Mrs. Snyder was especially interested in the Women's Missionary and Service Auxiliary, was an active church and community historian and a life member of the Maple Grove Women's Institute. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, Oct. 23, from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday afternoon, from 2: 30, until time of service in Wanner Mennonite Church at 4 p.m. Interment Wanner Mennonite cemetery.

    HESPELER, March 11, Rev. A. B. Snyder, 74, one of the best known residents of this district and former pastor of Wanner Mennonite church, near here, died at his home at Fisher Mills today. The deceased, who was a life long resident of the district was ordained in 1893 and for 40 years, was the minister of the Wanner Mennonite church. He took a great interest in educational and missionary activities of the Mennonite church. He was the chairman of the Mennonite Bible School, at Kitchener, during the early years, following its organization. He also served on the Mennonite Mission Board of Ontario, for a number of years. He was married on May 17, 1892, to Mary Groff of Waterloo, who survives with the following children; Mrs, Nelson Bechtel of Hespeler. Oliver A. Snyder of Hesprler, Mrs. Chester Buschert of Preston, Mrs. Howard Cressman, Hespeler, Edward and Emma at home. The funeral will be held at 1: 30 p.m., Friday, from the residence, to the Wanner Mennonite church, for service at 2: 30, with Interment in the adjoining Cemetery. Bishop B. M. Kanagy, the pastor of the congregation and Rev. P. F. Coffman of Vineland, will oonduct the services.

    Rev. Absalom Snyder, "was born March 7th, 1861. On May 17th, 1892, he was married to Mary Groff (No.3357). They reside near Hespeler, Ontario, where he is engaged in farming. On June 18th, 1892, he was ordained to the ministry of the Mennonite Church. Up to the present he has proved himself to be an able man and no doubt in time will be one of the ablest ministers of the Mennonite body. His family consists of two children named ."

    Mrs. Mary Snyder

    HESPELER, Nov. 24. Death occurred at her home, R.R. 2 Preston, on Tuesday, of Mary Groff, widow of the late Rev. A. B. Snyder. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Groff, the deceased was a native of Waterloo, She was the last surviving member of her family. In 1891 she married, Absalom B Snyder. She had resided at her R.R. 2 Preston home, for nearly 60 years. Her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Nelson (Martha) Bechtel, predeceased her. She was long a member and active worker In Wanner Mennonite Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Chester (Edna) Buschert of Preston; Mrs. Norman (Ida) Snider of Elmira; Emma of Hamilton and two sons, Oliver of Hespeler and Edward of Preston. Thirteen grandchildren also survive. A private service will be held at the late residence, at 2: 30 p.m., tomorrow, with a public service at Wanner Church, at 3 p.m. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.

    Snyder, Ervin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Snyder, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., June 21, 1864; died at Galt, Ont., July 25, 1962; aged 98 y. 1 m. 4 d. He was married to Nancy Nahrgang, who died in 1952. Two sons also preceded him in death. Surviving are one daughter (Lillian-Mrs. Oliver A. Snyder, Hespeler, Ont.), 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters (Mrs. Nelson Shantz, Elmira; Annie and Mrs. Noah Snyder, Waterloo). He was a member of the Shantz Church, where funeral services were held July 28, in charge of L. H. Witmer.

    Nancy, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Shantz) Nahrgang, was born near New Hamburg, Ont., May 11, 1871; departed this life March 13, 1952; aged 80 y. 10 m. 2 d. On May 22, 1895, she was united in marriage to Ervin S. Snyder of Baden, Ont. She is survived by her husband, one daughter (Lillian-Mrs. Oliver A. Snyder, Hespeler, Ont.), one son (Delton N., Baden, Ont.), 5 grandchildren, and one brother (Menno S., New Hamburg, Ont.). One son (Orvi), one grandson, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers predeceased her. She accepted Christ as her Saviour during the Stauffer evangelistic services in 1896 and remained a loyal and devoted member of the Shantz Mennonite Church, Baden, Ont., until her death. On March 16 funeral services were conducted by Manasseh Hallman, Merle Shantz, and Curtis Cressman at the home and at the Shantz Mennonite Church. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
