    Bender, -- Magdalena, daughter of Daniel and Magdalena (Oesch) Jantzi, was born March 17, 1896; passed away May 17, 1955, at the home of her daughter Geraldine; aged 59 y. 2 m. On June 21, 1922, she was married to Allen Bender. Surviving her unexpected passing are her husband of Baden, Ont., 2 children (Geraldine-Mrs. John Gascho, Baden and Urie, Scottdale, Pa.), and 3 granddaughters. One granddaughter predeceased her. Also surviving are 2 sisters (Rachel-Mrs. Joseph Nafziger, Manville, Alta., and Matilda-Mrs. John Holst, Baden), and 3 brothers (Moses O. Jantzi and John O. both of Baden, and Daniel O., Vulcan, Alta.). She was preceded in death by one sisters (Barbara) and 3 brothers (Solomon and Chris both of Lowville, N. Y., and Michael, Biggar, Sask.). Early in life she became a Christian and continued a faithful member of the Steinman A. M. church at Baden. She lived a consecrated life and served the Lord in many ways. At her death she was serving as an executive member of the Ontario Women's Auxiliary and Service Organization. The funeral service was held on May 20 in charge of Orland Gingerich, assisted by Elmer Swartzentruber and Amos Swartzenruber. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    Bender.-Samuel M. Bender was born June 3, 1859, in Waterloo county, Ont.; died May 10, 1930; aged 70 y. 11 m. 7 d. He accepted Christ as his Savior in his seventeenth year and was a consistent member of the Amish Mennonite Church to the end. He was married to Magdalena Lebold on Jan. 9, 1883. She preceded him in death Jan. 8, 1929. One son and 3 daughters were born to them. He is survived by 1 son, 2 daughters, 12 grandchildren, and 1 brother. One daughter preceded him in death. Services were held at the home and at the Steinman A. M. Church by Bros. Chr. Gascho, Osiah Cressman, and D. H. Steinman. Texts, Phil. 1: 20, 21 and Heb. 3: 1-6. Interment in adjoining cemetery.

    Death of Samuel Bender - the death occurred at his home in Baden on Saturday last of Mr. Samuel Bender at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 7 days. The deceased had been in failing health for several years, but was only confined to bed for one day. The late Mr. Bender was born in Wilmot and spent the greater part of his life in farming. For some years he owned the farm now possessed by Mr. Em. Gerber in town. Leaving here he moved to Baden where he had charge of the telephone exchange. The deceased was a faithful adherent of the A.M. Church, a kindly friend to all, and was greatly esteemed by all who knew him. He was married to Magdalena Lebold, who predeceased him in January of last year. There are left to mourn him one son, Allen, Baden, and two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Jutzi, of Kingwood, and Mrs. David Steinman, of Vineland, also one brother, David M. Bender, of Cassel. The funeral was held on Tuesday forenoon to the Steinman A. M. Church and cemetery and was very largely attended.

    Bender.-Magdalena Lebold Bender, daughter of the late Christian and Barbara Lebold, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Can., Dec. 9, 1859. In her sixteenth year she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was received through water baptism by Bishop John Gascho into the Amish Mennonite Church in Waterloo Co., Ont. and was a faithful sister till she fell asleep in Christ Jesus. On Dec. 9, 1883, she was joined in holy wedlock to Bro. Samuel M. Bender of Waterloo Co., Ont., living happily together 46 years less one day. This union was blessed with four children, one son and three daughters. She died on Jan. 8, 1928; aged 69 y. 29 d. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, 1 son, 2 daughters (1 daughter having predeceased her), 12 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Burial was at Steinman Church, Jan. 11. She was united in marriage to Daniel Jantzi Jan. 23, 1877, by Bishop John Gascho of Wilmot. This union was blessed with 10 children. Surviving are 5 sons and 3 daughters (Solomon of Lowville, N. Y.; Christian of Wilmot; Bishop Mose of Baden; John of Erbsville; Daniel of Vulcan, Alta.; Mrs. Joseph Nafziger of Mannville, Alta; Mrs. John Holst and Mrs. Allen Bender of Baden). One son (Michael) and one daughter (Barbara) predeceased her. She leaves 5 sisters and 2 brothers (Mrs. Rachel Gingerich of Baden; Mrs. Barbara Brenneman of Wellesley; Mrs. Katie Brenneman of Milverton; Mrs. Peter Brenneman of New Hamburg; Mrs. John Roth of Imlay City, Mich.; Joseph Oesch of Beggar, Sask.; and John Oesch of Milverton), 51 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. One sister predeceased in May. She united with the Amish Mennonite Church in her teens and remained a faithful member until death. She had been in good health until about 7 months ago. She became so tired and gradually grew weaker. She was conscious to the last. Her thoughts were always heavenward and she was so very appreciative of everything that was done for her. She attended church regularly as long as she was able. She was loving and kind and filled a worth-while place in the home.

    Christian W. Kipfer

    NEW HAMBURG. - Chulstian W. Kipfer of New Hamburg died at the K-W Hospital Saturday, Dec. 8th after a three-day illness at the age of 73 years. Mr. Kipfer, who was born near Gadshill, was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Kipfer. He was twice married. His first wife predeceased him in May, 1938. In June of this year he married Mrs. Veronica Kipfer of this village who survives along with two sons and three daughters, Daniel, Ossian, Id., Jacob, Elma, N.Y., Mrs. E. O.     Peter P. Murawsky, 87, of 284 Victoria St. North died Thursday in K-W Hospital after a week's illness.

    He was the last member of the family of the late Paul and Anne (Bohnoski) Murawsky. His wife, the former Mary Mongan, died in 1932.
    A stationary engineer, Mr. Murawsky was employed by the Wunder Furniture Company for 40 years and St. Jerome's College for eight years.
    He was a member of St. Mary's RC Church.

    Surviving are three sons, Martin of Troy, Mich.; Vincent and Joseph of Kitchener, four daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Kay) Hundt of Washington, Ont., Sister M Marita of St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, Miss Margaret Murawsky and Miss Helen Murawsky of Kitchener, and 21 grandchildren.

    A son Gerald and three daughters, Mrs. Daniel Kipfer, Mrs. Cecilia White and Miss Geraldine Murawsky predeceased him.
    The body is at the Gruhn Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday and prayers offered at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Requiem high mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's RC church at 9 a.m. Monday, and burial will be in Mount Hope RC Cemetery.

    The funeral of the late Mrs. Mary Murawsky, who passed away at St. Mary's Hospital Sunday, was held yesterday morning. Requiem high mass at St. Mary's R. C. Church was sung by Father Waechter.
