    GROSZ, Florence Hazel Our beloved Mother, Florence Hazel Grosz, passed away peacefully at The Westmount LTC Residence. Florence was born on February 5, 1911, in Roseville, ON, a daughter of the late Norman and Ella May Snyder and a sister to the late Ward Snyder. Florence grew up in Roseville and spent most of her extensive adult life in Kitchener. She was married to the late Walter Grosz and had three daughters, Sandra, Barbara, and Margie, who is deceased. She was a devoted wife and mother. Florence will be greatly missed not only by her children, but also by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Florence is survived by her daughters Barbara Schmidt (husband George) and Sandra Shier (husband Rob). Her grandchildren are: Dr. Shanda Shier, Sean Shier (wife Natalie), Susan Rumble (husband Dana), Cheryl Anger (husband Dave), Sandy Schmidt (wife Miriam). Her great- grandchildren are: Brayden and Justin Shier, Ashley Smith (husband Mark), Brittany, Zackary and Mackenzie Rumble. Ariana, Ainsley and Justin Anger, Alex and Shaelyn Schmidt. Her great-great-grandchildren are Brianna, Alyssa, and Leah Smith. Florence will finally be reunited with her loving husband Walter and her beloved daughter Margie May who are waiting for her in Heaven. A Memorial Service will be held for Florence at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount Rd.), Kitchener, on Sunday, December 13, 2009, at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. We invite family and friends to attend to celebrate Florence's wonderful life. Following the funeral service, a reception will be held in the reception lounge of the funeral home. The family would encourage donations to the CNIB in lieu of flowers and they may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at (519) 743-8900.     Norman E. Snyder

    Following an illness of five months, Norman E. Snyder, 78, of 143 Samuel St., died today at the K-W Hospital. Born Oct. 11, 1874, in North Easthope Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Snyder. He was a farmer for many years at Roseville. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical United Brethern Church. His wife, the former Ella Mae Reid, predeceased him Dec. 25, 1940. He is survived by one son, Ward, Kitchener; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Florence) Gross, Kitchener; two brothers, Allan, Toronto, and Owen, (Meyroane), Sask.; one sister, Mrs. O.G. Hallman, Kitchener, and three grandchildren. One son died in infancy. Funeral service will beheld Friday at 2 p.m. at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home followed by a service at 3 p.m. at the Grace Evangelical United Brethern Church at Roseville. Burial will be in Roseville Cemetery, Rev. E.E. Hallman will officiate. The body is at the Funeral Home

    BENJAMIN M. SNYDER

    ROSEVILLE, Sep. 10--The respect of the community held for the late Benjamin M. Snyder, was voiced by the large number who paid tribute to his memory at the public funeral service held in the Evangelical Church, Friday afternoon. The pastor, Rev, L. H. Wagner, had charge of the service assisted by a former pastor, Rev. W. S. Heinrich, of Dashwood and Rev. H. A. Kellerman, of Waterloo. The music was supplied by the mens choir of the church and the Holm Quartet. Rev. E. E. Hallman, H. S. Hallman, Ward Snyder, Gordon, John and Lorne Fried, (grandsons of the deceased acted as casket bearers. Interment took place in the Roseville cemetery.

    Died in Roseville, Ont., on Saturday, September 29th, 1923, at 9 o`clock p.m., Mary Ebert Beloved wife of Mr. Benjamin Snyder, aged 74 years, 10 months, 4 days. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 4th at 2 o;clock, from the residence of her husband, to the Evangelical Church for services, thence to the Roseville Cemetery for interment.     Benjamin Schneider, "was born July 4th, 1808. On February 22nd, 1831, he was married to Eliza Detweiler (No 2288) who was born October 2nd, 1811, and died September 7th, 1840. On September 26th, 1843, he was again married to Esther, daughter of Abraham and Barbara (Shuh) Miller. She was born October 23rd, 1814, and died September 9th, 1855. He resided a little west of Roseville, Ontario, where he was the owner of one of the finest tracts of land in Ontario. Here he was engaged in farming for many years, but when well advanced in years he retired from farming and had his home with his children. He died at Roseville, May 25th, 1892. His family consisted of eleven children, of whom the eldest six were born unto his first wife."
