PRESTON, Jan Szczerbaniuk, of RR 1, Elmira died Monday, at K-W hospital. He was 83. Mr. Szczerbaniuk was born in Austria on Jan. 25, 1883. He was a retired shoemaker and a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, in Elmira. Surviving are his wife the former Katarzyna Szelong, three sons, Stanley of Preston. Walter of Elmira and Adolf Mark of Kitchener. The body is at Barthel-Stager funeral home, until Wednesday morning, when removal will be made to St. Clement's Church, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Preston park lawn cemetery.

Of 247 Franklin St., Kitchener, on Thursday, Nov. 30, 1972, Katarzyna Szelong; beloved wife of the late Jan Szczerbaniuk; dear mother of Stanley of Preston and A. Mark of Kitchener; in her 91st year; born in Poland and moved to Route 1, Elmira, in 1950; member of the Roman Catholic church in Elmira; predeceased by her husband in 1971, also one son, Walter, in 1972; survived also by one sister in Poland and one granddaughter Maria (Mrs. Nick Bilen) of Kitchener. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, Preston, until Saturday, then to St. Clement's church, Preston, for funeral mass, at 12 noon. Interment in Parklawn cemetery.
