    MARTIN, Douglas Keith

    Passed away peacefully, at Innisfree House after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, August 10, 2015. Doug was born in Kitchener on October 4, 1947 and was the son of the late Lauretta and Zienas Martin. Best friend and loving husband of Margaret Martin (nee Wideman). Dearest father to Suzanne (Chris) Schaefer, Tara (Yvon) Deschenes and Chad (Jesi) Martin. Best Papa to Hanna, Ryan, Sebastien, Keagan and Marcus. Dear brother of Judith (Terry) Jutzi, brothers and sisters-in-law; Janet and John Bender, Howard and Carolyn Wideman, Karen and Glen Kimmel, Grace and Bob Veitch. Lovingly remembered by Aunts; Emma Brubacher and Elsie Cathrea, Uncle; George Maurer and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Doug was a long time employee of Weber Supply. After his stroke in 2006, he became the President of the Stroke Recovery Association Cambridge, was actively involved with the March of Dimes Program, Linking Survivors With Survivors and a faithful member of Preston Mennonite Church. He was also a long time cottager, at Chesley Lake. Doug's family will receive relatives and friends during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo, today (Wednesday, August 12, 2015) from 7-9 p.m. On Thursday, August 13, visitation will take place at Preston Mennonite Church, 791 Concession Rd., Cambridge from 1-3 p.m. Visitation continues back at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, Thursday evening, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate his life will take place at Preston Mennonite Church on Friday, August 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. Pastor Claire Osinkosky officiating. Reception will follow in the church hall. Interment in Hagey Cemetery, following the reception.

    LAURETTA MARTIN 1923 - 2008 Lauretta died peacefully in her sleep, at Heritage House in St. Jacobs, on Sunday, November 9, 2008. She had just celebrated her 85th birthday on October 25th. Lauretta will be lovingly remembered by her family who meant everything to her - children Douglas and his wife Margaret Martin of Cambridge and Judith and her husband Terry Jutzi of Kitchener. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Suzanne and Chris Schaefer, Tara and Yvon Deschenes, Chad Martin and Katrina Woerns, Jessica Jutzi and Stephen Kelley, Seth Jutzi and Alicia MacFadden; great-grandchildren, Hanna, Ryan, Sebastien and Keagan. Lauretta is also survived by her sister, Elsie Cathrea of Kelowna, B.C.; sister-in-law, Emma Brubacher of St. Jacobs and brother-in-law, George Maurer of Phillipsburg. She was predeceased by her husband, Zienas Martin; parents Lydia (Kilmer) and Clayton Brubacher; brother, Raymond Brubacher and brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim Cathrea, Luanna Maurer and Ellen and Turk Zess. She was a faithful member of Erb Street Mennonite Church in Waterloo. For over 50 years, Lauretta loved to be at their family cottage at Chesley Lake. Wherever Lauretta was, her gift to others was her unconditional friendship and ability to make people feel special. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Lauretta with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate her life and faith will be held at Erb Street Mennonite Church in Waterloo on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 2 p.m. with Rev. On Sept. 8, 1920, he was married to Lydia Kilmer, who survives. Also surviving are one son (Raymond), 2 daughters (Lauretta-Mrs. Zienas Martin, and Elsie-Mrs. James Cathrea), 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and one sister (Marion-Mrs. Frank Roush). She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. He was a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Apr. 14, in charge of Clare Wideman; interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Church Cemetery.

    The death took place at his home on the Elmira-Waterloo Highway yesterday of Jacob S. Martin, 74, following an illness of five weeks. Born in Woolwich Township, he was the son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Elias Martin. He attended the Martin Mennonite Church. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Edwin and Alfred, R. R., 1 Waterloo; one daughter, Mrs Clarence Bauman, (Almeda), R.R. 1, Waterloo; one sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Weber, Elmira, and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday at two o'clock from his residence, R.R. 1, Waterloo, to Martin Mennonite Church where service will be held at 2: 30. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The remains are resting at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 8: 30 a.m. when the removal will be made to the home.

    Brubacher, Lovina, daughter of the late David and Susannah Ernst, was born Oct. 4, 1875, in Wellington Co., Ont.; passed away Dec. 10, 1955, very suddenly of a heart attack at her home in St. Jacobs, Ont.; aged 80 y. 2 m. 6 d. She accepted Christ as her Saviour in her youth and remained faithful to Him to the end. She was a member of the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. On March 12, 1901, she was married to Eli Brubacher. Her husband, one sister, 4 stepbrothers, preceded her in death. Surviving are a son (Clayton, of St. Jacobs), 3 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, and one brother (David Ernst, of Elmira, Ont.). Funeral services were held at the St. Jacobs church on Dec. 12 in charge of Roy S. Koch and Noah Hunsberger. Burial was at Three Bridges.
