    1935 - 2010

    Passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, age 75 years. Formerly of Breslau, Nora resided in Kitchener for many years.

    She will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Patricia Prange of Waterloo and Donna Prange of Kitchener. Will be sadly missed by nieces Karen Cressman (Lyle), Dawn Fulcher (Paul), Barbara Wells, Robyn Prange, Heidi Prange, Sandra Cook (Jeremy); nephews, Jim Wells (Lori), Randy Prange (Anne), William Prange (Jacki), David Wells (Deb), Scott Wells (Bonnie) and Clifford Hammell (Sarah).

    Nora will be lovingly remembered by her longtime best friend Ralph Beggs.

    Predeceased by her parents Gertrude (Reist) and William Prange; nephew John Wells; brothers Roy and Norman (Bud) Prange and a sister Marion Wells and her husband Roy.

    A special thank you to Paula Joyes and her staff from K-W Habilitation Services, to the Kinsmen Centre and also Betty Rhindress for her care and support.

    Nora's family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. At 2 p.m. a memorial service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Sweet officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room. Cremation has taken place and interment in Breslau Mennonite Cemetery. Condolences for the family and donations to the Kinsmen Centre may be arranged through the funeral home www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.

    :William Prange William Prange, a lifelong resident of Breslau, died Tuesday at K-W Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Prange, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Prange, was proprietor of Prange Plumbing in Breslau until 1960 and was associated ith Prange Pump Service until his retirement last year. He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude Reist, whom he married at Kitchener in July, 1932; two sons, Roy of Breslau and Norman of RR 2, Waterloo; two daughers, Mrs. Roy (Marion) Wells of RR 2, Baden, and Nora, Breslau; two brothers, Harry, Preston, and Elmer Prong, Kitchener; two sisters, Mrs Elizabeth MacKenzie and Mrs. Laura Wagner, both of Kitchener, and eight grandchildren. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where a service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by Rev. A.A.Schweitzer of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Cressman cemetery, Breslau. Donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    Henry Prange, 74, of Breslau, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Wednesday, May 17th after a week's illness. Deceased was horn at Kossuth on Dec. 17, 1864 and farmed near Breslau all his life. He was a member of the Shantz Station Lutheran church. Surviving are his widow, nee Leah Kramp, six sons, Sylvester and Harry of Breslau, Norman of Glen Morris, Arthur of Kitchener, Elmer of Mosborough and William of Preston, two daughters, Mrs. William McKenzie of Kitchener, Mrs. Charles Wagner of Breslau, one brother, John of Buffalo, N.Y., and 35 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held private on Saturday to the Cressman Mennonite church, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

    OWEN REIST, V.S., of Kossuth. was born in Woolwich in 1866. After passing through the public school of Kossuth he took his second-class teacher's certificate at the Galt Collegiate in 1886, afterward attending the Ontario Veterinary College, where he received the degree of V. S. in 1888, and has successfully practised his profession ever since. In 1892 he assumed his father's farm, later acquiring more farm property, in all nearly 300 acres. Mr. Reist held the position of Sanitary Inspector for Waterloo Township from 1891 to 1900, when he resigned to accept a seat in the township council, being elected reeve in 1906. He was appointed a justice of the peace in 1902 and reappointed in 1905. He has held the office of school trustee and is recording steward for the Zion circuit of the Methodist Church.

    Mrs. O. Reist \endash Kossuth \endash Well attended funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Zion United Church for Mary Ellen Baer, widow of the late Dr. Owen Reist, who died in Hamilton on Saturday. In her 70th year, the late Mrs. Reist lived for many years on the farm in Kossuth. Services were held at the H.K. Stager Funeral Parlors, Preston, and Zion United church, conducted by the Rev. Douglas Gordon, pastor of the church and Rev. Oscar Burkholder, pastor of Cressman Church, Breslau. Interment was in the Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Norman Markle, Levi Bowman, Aaron Baer, Bailey Springer, all of Kossuth, and Lawrence Snyder and Norman Reist of Hespeler.
