    O'NEILL, Fergus Joseph

    Of Fairview Road, Cambridge, on Friday, Jan. 27, 1995, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Mildred Lucas; dear father of Charles and his wife Joanne, Edward and his wife Jeannine, James and his wife Carol, Richard and Gerald, all of Cambridge, Ann and her husband Terry Hishon of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold (Mickey) of Texas and one sister, Mary Clancy of Oshawa. Predeceased by his parents, John and Mary O'Neill; one son, Thomas: one daughter, Helen Brand; one brother, Lorne and two sisters, Helen Clough and Rose in infancy. Mr. O'Neill was born in Downeyville, Ont. and was a retired steel worker. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church, Past Grand Knight of the Galt 2148 Council of the Knights of Columbus. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 30, 1995, at St. Clement's RC Church, Duke Street, Cambridge, at 9: 30 a.m., with Father McSharry, celebrant. Interment in Parklawn Cemetery.

    Passed away peacefully, at River Bend Place, Cambridge on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at age 90. Loving mother of Charles (Joanne), Edward (Jeannine), James (Carol), Richard, Anne (Terry Hishon), Gerald (Geraldine). Survived by sisters, Rachael Oliver and Caroline (Bob Wylie) and brothers, David (Mona) Lucas, James Lucas and Noel Lucas and sister-in-law, Margaret Lucas. Dearly loved grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her loving husband Fergus (Fergie) - 1995, after 57 years of marriage and by her parents, Charles and Jessie Lucas, daughter, Helen and her husband Sjsannon Brand and also by sisters, Vera and Dorothy, brother, Clement and baby son, Thomas. Also by one grandson Mark and one great-grandson Noah. Mildred moved to Cambridge, in 1941 from Downeyville, Ontario and was a Supervisor at Grandview Training School (Dept. of Reform) and retired from real estate in 1981. She was a longtime member of St. Clement's R.C. Church, Cambridge, since 1956. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Thursday, November 5, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass on Friday, November 6, 2009, at 11: 30 a.m., from St. Clement's R.C. Church 745 Duke Street, Cambridge. Interment at Parkawn Cemetery.
