    STECKLY, C. Mearl

    Passed on to sing with the Angel Choir on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the age of 94. Loved father of Dennis and Anita, Marlin and Gail, Laurel and Kirby. He will forever be remembered by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. Mearl left this earth on the same day as his beloved wife Helen, who predeceased him 17 years ago on Tuesday, July 24, 2001. He will be greatly missed by his dear friend Nora and the whole Hammond family. Relatives and friends may call at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, on Friday, July 27, 2018, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Preston Mennonite Church, 791 Concession Rd. Cambridge at 11 a.m. Reverend Susan Shantz is to officiate. Interment at Hagey Cemetery.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Sadie (Cressman), in 1925, and his second wife, Adela (Weber), in 1967, and one daughter (Eileen), one brother, and 2 sisters. He was a member of of Preston Mennonite Church and served on the managing board of the Fairview Mennonite Home.     Steckly. - Sister Sadie Cressman, beloved wife of Bro. Joe J. Steckly of near Carstairs, Alta., died on Oct. 11, 1925. She was born near Kitchener, Ont., on July 30, 1887. She leaves a sorrowing husband and three children (Irene, Lyle and Merl), also a mother, sister, and two brothers, in Kitchener, Ont. She had cancer but on taking treatment in Linden, Ont., hope was held out for her recovery. She came home just about six weeks before her death happy to be in her home. Sister Sadie was of a cheerful and loving disposition, so is greatly missed by her many friends. She was patient in her suffering and expressed her longing to depart and be where there is no more pain. The funeral was held on Oct. 16, Bro. N. B. Stauffer of Aldersyde preaching an impressive sermon. Bro. N. R. Weber and the home minister, Bro. H. J. Harder, assisted. Sadie was laid away to await the call of her Lord, in the cemetery near the church where she was used to worship.

On March 11th, 1884, he was married to Leah Schmidt who was born April 10th, 1859. They resided in Blenheim Township, near Washington, where he died September 14th, 1894. The widow now resides with her sister, Mrs. Jacob Erb, near Waterloo. Their family consisted of five children"

    Cressman.-On Sept. 14th, 1894, in Blenheim Twp., Oxford Co., Ontario, Bro. Levi Cressman. He was born October 1st, 1858, and was aged 35 yrs., 11 mo., 14 d. He died of typhoid fever and pneumonia. A sorrowing widow and five small children are left, who mourn not as those who have no hope. He was buried in the Blenheim Mennonite cemetery on Sunday, September 16th, followed to his last resting place by a large number of people. Funeral services were conducted at the house by Bro. S. Gehman and at the church by Bro. J. Nahrgang in German, from Matt. 24: 44, and by Bro. I. A. Wambold in English, from Isa. 38: 1.

    Musselman. - Jacob, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Musselman, was born in Woolwich Township, Waterloo Co., on Jan. 27, 1869. For the past 23 years he has been a resident in the town of Waterloo, and a member of the Erb Street Mennonite Church. On March 16, 1892, he was united in holy matrimony to Angeline Snider of Woolwich Twp. who preceded him in death Jan. 28, 1919. This union was blessed with 4 sons and 2 daughters: Ermina, Mrs. Ira Bauman, of Elmira; Elsie, Mrs. Cleason Martin, of Waterloo; Leslie and Edgar of Preston; Eldon of Detroit. One son Herbert predeceased him 8 years ago. On April 11, 1920, he was united in marriage to Mary Litwiller of Wilmot Twp. with whom he observed a silver wedding anniversary on April 11, 1945. After a brief illness he voiced his desire to leave this world and he passed the Great Divide on Aug. 26 in his 77th year. Surviving are his sorrowing widow, 3 sons, 2 daughters, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many friends and relatives. Services were held at Erb Street Mennonite Church, Waterloo, Ont. J. B. Martin and Oscar Burkholder conduct the memorial service.

    JACOB MUSSELMAN

    Following a brief illness, Jacob Musselman, 76, died at the K-W Hospital late Sunday. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Musselman, he was born in Woolwich Township, Jan. 27, 1869. While he farmed in Peel Township for many years, Mr. Musselman had been a resident of Waterloo for the past 23 years. He was a member of the Erb St. Mennonite Church, Waterloo. Surviving are three sons, Leslie and Edgar, Preston; Eldon, Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Ira (Ermine) Bauman, Elmira; Mrs. Cleason (Elsie) Martin, Waterloo; four brothers, Menno and Fred of Kitchener; Albert, Galt; and Harvey, Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Burkhardt, and Miss Adeline Musselman, both of Elmira. One son Herbert, died eight years ago. A private funeral was held at his late residence, 59 William St. W., Waterloo on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. The public funeral service was held at the Erb St. Mennonite Church at three o'clock. Rev. J. B. Martin was in charge of the services. Interment was made in the Elmira Mennonite Cemetery.
