    KLEINSTEUBER, Thomas George Sr. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Thomas on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Johanna Mary Agnes (nee Hopkins) for over 62 years. Loving father of Colleen Nora Kathryn Kleinsteuber, Heather Marie Kleinsteuber (Paul Neale), Teresa Johanna Purchase (Craig Chisholm) and Thomas George Kleinsteuber Jr. (Alison Cuthbertson). Proud grandpa of Robert and Steven Purchase and Dayna Rose and Shelby Shapiro. Dear brother of Shirley Nieder (Bill), Nancy Ping (Chuck) and the late Bertha Gilchrist, Nettie Kinzie, Jean Kraehling, Ben Kent and Robert Kleinsteuber. Son of the late Mabel and Frederick Kleinsteuber. Thomas was a longtime member of the Maryhill Knights of Columbus. For 40 years he was involved in the construction business, building many homes in the KW area. Special thanks to Dr. Yew and the nurses and PSW's who cared for Thomas. Thomas' family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers 3: 30 p.m. Thursday. Prayers will also be offered at the funeral home on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Anne's RC Church, 268 East Ave., Kitchener for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10: 30 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall.     Frederick Kleinsteuber

    DOON, July 12. Frederick Kleinsteuber, 64, well known Doon resident, for the past 25 years, died in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, yesterday. Ailing for two years, he had been seriously ill for three weeks. Mr. Kleinsteuber, a carpenter by trade, was foreman at James Gillies and Son, Ltd., Preston and had been employed with the local concern for the past 45 years. Born in New Dundee, he moved to Doon following his marriage, to Mabel Quelch, who survives. He attended the Doon United Church and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kleinsteuber. Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Harvey Gilchrist, Parry Sound; Mrs, Edward Kinzie, Blair; Jean, Shirley and Nancy Kleinsteuber, at home; three sons, Frederick of Preston, and Thomas and Robert, at home; one brother, Harry Pfeiffer of Preston; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Johnston, Hespeler, and Mrs. Maude Schroeder of Preston and three grandchildren. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, Preston, where the funeral will be held tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
