    J. Stanley Hilborn

    J. Stanely Hilborn of New Dundee died on Monday at St. Marys Hospital at the age of 89.

    Born in Pilkington Township, Dec 13, 1880 [1889], he was a son of the late Mr and Mrs. Isaiah Hilbom. He farmed in the Roseville area for 34 years before retiring to New Dundee in 1953.

    He was a member of the New Dundee United Brethren Church.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Ina Bingaman, whom he married near New Dundee in 1917; three sons, Rae of RR 1, Shakespeare, Harry of RR 3, Galt and David of Dulce, N. M.; five daughters, Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Perrin and Mrs. Emmanuel (Grace) Heintz, both of Roseville; Mrs. William (Eva) Shaver of Binbrook, Mrs. Muriel Bateman of Kitchener and Mrs. Walter (Edna) Wilhelm of RR 2, Baden; a brother Clarence of New Dundee; a sister, Mrs. Ernest (Fanny) Sibbick of Burford; and 29 grandchildren.

    He was predeceased by a son, two daughters, two brothers and a sister.

    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until 11 a m. Wednesday when removal will be made to the New Dundee United Brethren Church for service at 2:30 p. m. with Rev. C. K. Nicholson, former pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Union cemetery, New Dundee.

    Donations to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or the church building fund will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    Hoffman, Menno, son of Daniel and Lydia (Bauman) Hoffman, was born Oct. 30, 1863, in Woolwich Twp. , Ont. ; died April 8, 1956, after an illness of 4 years at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Abner R. Martin, St. Jacobs, Ont. ; aged 92 y. 5m. 9 d. He was married on Feb. 27, 1887, to Susannah Eby, who preceded him in death in 1935. To this union were born 14 children 12 girls and 2 boys. Surviving are 8 daughters and one son (Mrs. Allan Bauman, of Waterloo; Elizabeth and Mrs. Levi Martin, of Elmira; Mrs. Aaron Martin and Mrs. Abner R. Martin, of St. Jacobs; Adina, Kitchener, Ont. ; Rebecca, Toronto, Ont. ; Maryann, of St. Jacobs, and Emanuel, Hawkesville, Ont. ), one sister (Mrs. Noah Wideman, of Waterloo), 40 grandchildren, and 64 great-grandchildren. From his youth he was a member of the Mennonite Church and took a keen interest in the spiritual growth of the church. At the time of his death he was a member of the Hawkesville congregation. The funeral service held at the St. Jacobs Church was conducted by Paul martin and Roy Koch. Interment was made in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery.

    ISAIAH HILBORN

    Mr. Isaiah Hilborn, of Rosedale. passed away Sunday morning at his home, after an illness of about six months duration. Deceased was about 65 years of age and is survived by his bereaved wife and six children. They are Ralph. Hubert, Stanley, Clarence, Fanny and Blanche. Mr. Hilborn was un uncile of Mr. E. H Thamer of Kitchener. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock (old time), from his late residence to Roseville cemetery, where interment was made.

    Death of Mrs. I. Hilborn

    The death occurred in Roseville on Tuesday evening of one of the highest respected persons of this vicinity in the person of Mrs. Lizzie Hilborn, daughter of the late John S. Huber and relict of the late Isaiah Hilborn. She was born Feb. 4th, 1860, in Blenheim Township, and died April 3rd, 1923, at her late residence in North Dumfries Township. For 3 1-2 years before her marriage she taught school at Perrys corners. On Feb. 25th, 1885, she was married to Mr. Isaiah Hilborn, who predeceased her to her home above by nearly four years. For 18 years Mr. and Mrs. Hilborn lived in Pilkington Township, and 19 years ago they moved to the present Hilborn farm. Mrs. Hilborn became a Christian in her youth and joined the Methodist Church. Recently, however, she has been a valued member of the Evangelical Church here. Her Christian life was consistent and practical. She was resigned to the will of Him who "doeth all things well" and her departure was peaceful and happy.

    Mrs. Hilborn is survived by six children, viz.: J. Huber, Drumbo; Ralph, New Dundee; Stanley, New Dundee; the Misses Blanche and Fannie, and Mr. Clarence at home; also six grandchildren. The funeral took place on Friday from her late residence in the Evangelical church. The services were conducted by Rev. A. t. Nash and Rev. Bachus. The pallbearers were Messrs. John and Alex McDonald, a. Poll, N. Snyder, E. Hallman and S. Rohr.

    Titus Bingeman

    NEW DUNDEE.

    Titus Bingeman, a well-known resident of the district, passed away at his home in the village, early Monday morning, Sept. 4th, in his 86th year. The deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bingeman and was born at Washington, in Oxford County, on March 23rd, 1859. In 1881 he took up farming one mile south of NewDundee and Dec. 12, 1882, he was married to Mary Cressman, who predeceased him in 1921, he was married to Katherine Snider of Fisher's Mills, who passed away in 1937.

    The late Mr. Bingeman, who retired to the village in 1923, was in good health until the last few years and had only been confined to bed for two days. He was a member of the United Brethren Church.

    Surviving are: four daughters, namely: Mrs. Henry Schlichter (Olive) Of New Dundee, Mrs. Harry Ford (Essie) of Vancouver, B.C., Miss Ada Bingeman of New Dundee and Mrs. Stanley Hilborn (Ina) of Ayr R.R.; and three sons, Roy of San Francisco, California, Moral of Cainsville and Floyd of Woodstock. One son, Elmer, predeceased him. There arc also three sisters, Mrs. George Coleman of New Dundee, Mrs. Andrew Porter of San Mateo, California and Mrs. Erwin Ellis of Gilbert Plains, Man., besides 22 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

    The funeral was held Thursday afternoon from his late residence to the United Brethren Church for service with the pastor, Rev. E. Gingerich, officiating. Interment was made in the New Dundee Union Cemetery.
