    DEDMAN, Edward - Passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at the K-W Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Ed Dedman, of Washington, in his 77th year. Beloved husband of the late Laura (nee Kempthorne) who predeceased him July 20, 2003 and who he married March 1, 1957. Loving father of Marilyn (Rob) Hofstetter, Karen Dedman, all of Kitchener, Darlene Tryon of Drumbo, Ron (Kim) Dedman of Plattsville, Rick (Audrey) Dedman of Washington and Rob (Michelle) Dedman of Kitchener. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Adrian, Lisa and Tyler Hofstetter, Lee (Kristi) Coles, Jenn and Trish Moores, Ken (Leigh) Tryon, Tom Tryon, Tim and Ashley Dedman, Ryan and Krista Dedman and by his great-grandchildren Riley Moores, Kyla Coles, Nickolas Tryon and MacKenzie Dedman. Brother of Albert and Edna Dedman of Calgary. Also survived by his brothers-in-law Leo Huber and Doug Lamont and sister-in-law Jean Rounds. Predeceased by his parents Lionel and Marion Dedman, sister Ruth Huber, brother John Dedman, sisters-in-law Velda Lamont and Isabel Kempthorne and brothers-in-law Jim Rounds and Doug Kempthorne. Ed was the No. 1 Fan of watching his grandchildren playing their various sports and was also an active member of the Brant County Poultry Pigeon & Rabbit Association. He enjoyed many years of going to the fair and showing his pigeons. Relatives and friends may call at the Glendinning Funeral Home, 40 William St., Plattsville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted from the Washington United Church Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1 p.m. Rev. Daniel MacLean officiating. Interment in Roseville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brant County Pigeon & Rabbit Association or the London Health Sciences Center - Organ Donor Fund (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family.

    Murray J. Kempthorne

    Murray John Kempthorne of Washington, died at his home on Monday of last week. He was 69.

    He was born on a farm just outside Washington and was affiliated with Washington United Church.

    Surviving besides his wife, the former Sadie Bowman, are one son, Douglas, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Velda) Lamont, Plattsville; Mrs. Edward (Laura) Dedman, Washington, and Mrs. James (Jean) Rounds, Ayr; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Smith, Washington and 10 grandchildren.

    Funeral service was conducted at the Glendenning Funeral Home, Plattsville on Thursday, Rev. Harold Tiller officiating.

    Burial was in Ayr cemetery.

    Mrs. Murray Kempthorne

    Mrs. Sarah Ann Kempthorne passed away at the Freeport Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, October 30, 1982 following a lengthy illness. She was in her 78th year. Born in Burford Township near Scotland, she was the former Sarah Ann Bowman. In 1931 she married Murray Kempthorne at Middleport. They farmed near Washington until shortly after the death of her husband in 1969. For the past eight years she has been confined to hospital. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Velda) Lamont of Plattsville, Mrs. Edward (Laura) Dedman of Washington, Mrs. James (Jean) Rounds of Drumbo; and one son Douglas Kempthorne of Kitchener. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters Mrs. Laura Summerhayes of Paris and Mrs. Eva Jackson of Hamilton and one brother George Bowman of Scotland. Predeceased by daughter Isabel in 1958. Funeral service was held from the Rumble Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 2nd with Rev. Douglas Willis of Hagersville officiating. Interment in the Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cliff Bowman, Glen Cain, Bruce O'Connor, David Rounds, Ron Dedman and Rick Dedman.

    ROSEVILLE Matilda Louisa Tingey-Bowers, widow of the late Louis Dedman, passed away at her home near Roseville Friday in her 79th year.

    Mrs. Dedman, who had been in failing health for about two years, was born in Norfolk County, England, on Feb. 25, 1865, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Tingey-Bowers. The family came to Canada in 1913, settling at Blair, and in 1919 moved to the farm near Roseville, where Mr. Dedman passed away in November, 1936.

    Mrs. Dedman is survived by three sons, Lionel and Edward of Roseville, and Allan of Ayr; two daughters, Ivy of Galt, and May (Mrs. A. R. Moffat) of Roseville, and one brother, William, of Saffron Walden, England. There are 12 grandchildren

    William Kempthorne

    The death occurred at Washington on Saturday of William Kempthorne, in his 68th year, after an illness of some three weeks. Deceased had resided at Washington for about 29 years, prior to which time he had lived for many years in the Ayr district. He was a man of sterling character, who was much respected by a wide circle of friends and neighbors. His wife, whose maiden name was Isabella Patterson, predeceased him about one year ago. The following 3 daughters and 1 son survive: Mrs. Leslie Baker, Detroit, Mrs. Floyd Smith, Cainsville; and Miss Jean and Murray, at home. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon to the Ayr Cemetery.

    Death of Mrs. Kempthorne

    Mrs. William Kempthorne, who resided near Washington, was found dead in her bed on Friday morning. Her death came as a great shock to her family and friends, who have the sympathy of the community in their deep loss. She was born in Waterloo Township 62 years ago and had resided in this district practically all of her days. After her marriage some 40 years ago, she and her husband lived for a short period on the town line and also on the 7th Con. of Blenheim. The family removed to a farm near Washington about 28 years ago where they had since resided. She was a member of the Chesterfield Church and always took an interest in church work. Besides her husband, she is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son, viz.:Jeannie, Isobel, Evelyn and Murray. Two sisters and one brother also survive, viz.: William H. Patterson, Greenfield , Miss Nellie Patterson and Mrs. George Easton, Ayr. The funeral took place to Ayr Cemetery on Monday and was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives. The services were in charge of Rev. Mr. Johnson of Chesterfield, while the pallbearers were as follows: Messrs. John Fenn, P. McKie, William Rendall, William Thompson, William Richmond and Albert Kaufman.
