Beloved husband of Myrtle Rickert; dear father of Donald of Little Falls, N.Y., George, Phillip and Larry, all of Cambridge, Betty (Mrs. William St. Croix) of St. Catharines, Jacqueline (Mrs. Jack Berner) of Kitchener, Isabel (Mrs. Jack Gambling), Shirley (Mrs. Wilfred Main) and Margaret (Mrs. William King), all of Cambridge; dear brother of Charles of Exter, Joseph of Toronto, Mrs. May Affeldt of Kitchener, Agnes (Mrs. Arthur Huff) of British Columbia, Mrs. Christine Botten of Cambridge, Hazel (Mrs. Norman Pipe) of Simcoe and Mrs. Marie Martin of Kitchener; he is also survived by 47 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was born in Waterloo Township and resided all his life in the Cambridge area; had been employed by the C.O.S.F. until retirement. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, Queenston Rd., at Argyle St., Cambridge, from 2 p.m., Saturday, May 31, until noon Monday, June 2, then to King St. Baptist Church for service at 2 p.m. Interment followed in Parklawn cemetery, Cambridge.

    JOHN AARON POORE

    PRESTON, Jan. 25--Suffering a heart attack while engaged at his duties at Preston Furniture about a week ago. John Aaron Poore died at his home at 11 o'clock last night. Mr. Poore was born at Plattesville and resided there until coming to Preston 45 years ago. For many years he was employed at the Pattinson Woolen Mill, being employed with Preston Furniture for the past year and a half. He was a Baptist by faith and was an honorary member of the Preston Loyal Orange Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Edith Cockerton; three sons. John of Preston, Charles of Hespeler and Gunner Joseph Poore, overseas; five daughters, Mrs. Harry Affeldt, Kitchener; Mrs. Arthur Hopf, Mrs. George Botten and Mrs. John Martin of Preston, and Mrs. Norman Pipe of Simcoe; one sister, Mrs. Mary Wall, of Brantford. Twenty-six grandchildren also survive. A son, George, predeceased him 37 years ago. The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held on Saturday at 4 p.m. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.

    Mrs. Edith Poore - By Record Correspondent

    Preston, Nov. 22 - A resident of Preston the greater part of her life, Edith Cockerton, widow of John Aaron Poore, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Botten, Laurel St., at 9: 30 last evening at the age of 67 years after an illness of several months.

    Mrs. Poore was born in Haysville and lived in Plattsville for a time. She was an adherent of the Baptist Church. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Harry Affeldt, Kitchener, Mrs. Arthur Hopf and Mrs. George Botten, Preston, Mrs. Norman Pipe, Simcoe, Mrs. John Martin, Preston; three sons, John of Preston, Charles of Hespeler and Joseph of Toronto; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Grieves, Plattsville, and four brothers, Fred and John Cockerton of Plattsville, James of New Hamburg and George Cockerton of Toronto. Her husband predeceased her in January, 1944. Twenty-seven grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held on Monday at 2: 30. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
