    Scott, Edna Christina (nee Borthwick) … Passed away unexpectedly at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday February 20, 2016 at the age of 91. Loving wife of John "Jack". Cherished mother of Ed and Pauline, Harold and Sylvia, John and Bernadete, Wayne and Denise, Douglas, Mary Davies and Margaret and John Mantler. Proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Edna was a longtime member of Sheffield United Church and the Branchton Women's Institute. Private family services will be held at Corbett Funeral Home, Cambridge, with interment following at St. George Cemetery.     Of 48 Barrie St. in Galt. At the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital in Galt, on Tuesday, January 12, 1965, in his 61st year. Husband of Sarah C. Pinder. Father of Edna (Mrs. John Scott) of Branchton. Brother of Mary (Mrs. L. W. Groves) of Newark, NJ; John and Lemuel, both of Guelph; Robert of London; Charles and Gordon, both of R. R. #6, Guelph. Also survived by seven grandchildren. A resident of Galt for over twenty years, he was born in Puslinch Township on January 21, 1904, son of John Borthwick and Mary Wideman.

    He lived in Guelph, previous to moving to Galt. Mr. Borthwick owned and operated Borthwick's Farm Machinery on Samuelson St. and was active in the firm until his death. He was an adherent of the United Church. Funeral at the Courts & Son Funeral Home on Thurs. , Jan. 14th at 2. Interment Mount View Cemetery, Galt.

Sister of Grace (Mrs. Leslie Young) of Guelph. Also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one brother and one sister. Service at Coutts and Son Funeral Home on Sat. , June 1 at 1: 30. Interment Mount View Cemetery.

    BORTHWICK, JOHN

    On Monday, August 12, 1929, at this residence. The funeral, which was largely attended by his many relatives and friends, for one of the oldest residents of Puslinch was held from his residence, lot 22, rear concession 3, at 2: 30 on Wednesday to Crown Cemetery. Born 83 years ago on the old Borthwick homestead, where he lived all his life, with the exception of four years spent in Guelph. He leaves to mourn his loss six sons: Charles on the homestead; John, Robert and Gordon of Guelph; Lemuel of Eramosa; Edwin of Arkell; also one daughter, Mary, at home. One brother, Robert, the only remaining member of a large family, resides in Guelph. His wife predeceased him three years ago. Pallbearers were his six sons.

    -Information from the death certificate: Born in Puslinch on July 18, 1846, son of Charles Borthwick and Selina Finch.

    -Information from the death certificate of Mary Borthwick: Died on September 27, 1926, aged 64 years and 1 month. Of lot 22, rear of concession 3 in Puslinch. Born in Waterloo County on August 27, 1862, daughter of Christopher Wideman and Christina Sophia Trogy. Informant - John H. Borthwick of 100 Forest St. in Guelph, her son. Burial in Crown Cemetery.

    Death of Mrs Wideman

    Guelph Mercury :-The announcement of the death of Anna Sophia Traga, widow of the late Christopher Wideman was received with sorrow by relatives and friends on Saturday, Aug. 29th. She had been in poor health for about two months, when she was taken down with a paralytic stroke, from which time she gradually sank till death came. She was born Aug. 23rd, 1829, in Nienburg, Hanover, Germany. She emigrated to Canada with her husband in 1864, went to Kossuth, Waterloo township, but finally settled on a farm in Egremont, where she remained until her death. She leaves three sons and four daughters, all living on farms, except the oldest of the family, Capt, Wideman, of Guelph. The funeral took place on Monday, and was attended by a large number of sympathizing friends The youngest son, Andre with his sister, Dora, will remain on the old homestead.
