    BENDER, Earl G. Passed away at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Born on April 16, 1920 at Punkydoodle Corners and was married to Marie (nee Wagler) for 65 years. Beloved father of John (Joanne) Bender, Audrey (Norm) Henderson, Mary Bender, Carl (Judy) Bender, Robert (Val) Bender and Murray (Judy) Bender. Remembered fondly by grandchildren; Karen (Jan) Althaus, Marc, Lisa and Michael Bender, Mary (Brendan) Jaekl, Dave (Karen) Henderson and Janice Henderson, Andrea (Ian) Cattrysse, Chris Bender, Matt (Kelly) Bender, Joe, Katrina, Will and Wyatt Bender, Aaron, Amanda and Lauren Bender. Great-grandfather of Elizabeth, Matthew Jaekl, Alexander, Isabelle Henderson, Jacob Bender and Fiona Althaus. Survived by his sister Verna (Aden) Snyder, sisters-in-law; Marion (Marcus) Leis and Jean (Edmund) Bender. Also remembered by the Wagler family and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Aaron Bender and Madeline (nee Gingerich), brothers; Fred Bricker, Ammon, Marcus and Edmond Bender. Earl owned and operated Bender's Garage in Crosshill from 1948-1979 and was well known, well liked and respected mechanic. He then worked at Sunar Hausermann for 10 years and later at Foxwood Golf Course. Visitation will be held at Crosshill Mennonite Church on Thursday, October 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the church on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mapleview Mennonite Cemetery.     BENDER, Marie (nee Wagler) Passed away at Nithview Home, New Hamburg, January 28, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Born May 30, 1925. Married 65 years to Earl G. Bender who predeceased her in 2014. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Marie was born and raised near Nithburg in Wellesley Township, lived most of her life with her husband Earl and their family in Crosshill, and spent the last 5 years at Nithview Community. She was a faithful member of Crosshill Mennonite Church. Marie was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and handwork, oil painting, reading and playing Scrabble. She had many friends who, along with her family, appreciated her for her hospitality, interesting conversation, thoughtfulness and love of people. Visitation is at Nithview Community. New Hamburg on Saturday, January 30th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Visitation will continue at Crosshill Mennonite Church on Saturday, January 30th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A concert involving Marie's family will be held as previously planned on Sunday, January 31st at 3 p.m. at Erb St. Mennonite Church, Waterloo. Visitation will continue at Crosshill Mennonite Church on Sunday, January 31st from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be on Monday, February 1st at 11 a.m. at Crosshill Mennonite Church, conducted by Pastor Brent Kipfer.     MRS. AARON BENDER

    Mrs. Aaron Bender of Fairview Mennonite Home, Preston and formerly of Crosshill, died Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Conte's Pavilion in Freeport. She was the former Madeline Gingerich, born 82 years ago, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gingerich. Mrs. Bender was predeceased by her husband Aaron S Bender in 1966. Surviving are three sons, Marcus, R.R.2, Wellesley; Earl, Crosshill; Edmund, Pinecraft, Florida; one foster son, Frederick Bricker of Preston; one daughter, Mrs. Eden (Verna) Snyder, Kitchener; two brothers, Peter, Baden; Enoc, Shakespeare; one sister, Mrs. Annie Sittler, Preston, 21 grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son and a brother. The body rested at the Futher Brothers funeral home Wellesley, until noon on Sunday when removal was made to Maple Mennonite Church where the funeral service was held at 2: 30. Burial followed in the adjoining church cemetery.

    Mrs. Aaron Bender

    Mrs. Aaron Bender of the Fairview Mennonite Home, Preston, formerly of Crosshill, died Wednesday at the Coutts Pavilion in Freeport. She was 81.

    Mrs. Bender was the former Magdeline Gingerich, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gingerich. She was a member of the Maple View Mennonite Church, Wellesley.

    Her husband predeceased her June 13, 1966. Surviving are three sons, Marcus of RR 2, Wellesley, Earl of Crosshill, Edmund of Pine Craft, Fla., and one foster son, Frederick Bricker of Preston; one daughter, Mrs. Aden (Verna) Snyder of Kitchener; two brothers, Peter of Baden and Enos of Shakespeare; one sister, Mrs. Annie Sutler of Preston; 21 grandchildren.

    She was also predeceased by one son and one brother.

    Funeral service was held Sunday at the Maple View Mennonite Church, Rev. Christian O. Erb officiating.

    Burial was in the Maple View cemetery.

    Futher Brothers Funeral Home, Wellesley, was in charge of arrangements.

In her youth she accepted Christ and was baptized as a member of Cedar Grove A. M. congregation, where she remained until her death. She leaves to mourn her departure 3 sons, Daniel of Stratford, Omer of Wellesley, and Norman of Wellesley; also 7 daughters, Mrs. Earl (Marie) Bender, Crosshill; Mrs. John (Vera) Dyck, Bancroft; Mrs. Elmer (Edna) Ropp, Brunner; Mrs. Roy (Esther) Scherrer, Millbank; Mrs. Wayne (Florence) Borodula, Kamloops, B.C.; and Eileen at home; 44 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren; also 2 brothers, Ezra of Wellesley, Daniel of Lisbon, and 2 sisters, Catherine, widow of the late Bishop Samuel Roth, and Bena of Lisbon. She was predeceased by her husband, 1 brother Menno, and 1 sister in infancy. Services were held on Sept. 18, at the Cedar Grove A. M. church, by Bishop Arthur Gerber and Min. Melvin Jantzi. Burial in the adjoining cemetery.
