    CRESSMAN, Raymond Harold October 12, 1948 - July 15, 2010 "Resting in the arms of Jesus" Survived by his wife and soul mate of 42 years, Eleanor Cressman (Reist) and their three children Joseph of Kitchener, Vicky (Marty) Newbigging of Wallenstein, and Peter of Dorking; Grandpa to Calvin and Cory Cressman, and Papa to Claire and Carter Newbigging. He is survived by his mother Shirley Cressman Mader, his sister Peggy Worboys (Russ) of Cambridge, his brother Terry Cressman of Calgary, sisters-in-law Bonnie (Wally) Yantz, and Gail (Stubby) Stahlbaumn, brothers-in-law Jim (Shirley) Reist, and Jeff Reist as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his father Donald Cressman and step-dad Cecil Mader. Ray worked as an Ironworker for Aecon Engineering prior to his accident. Ray was a member of Zion Mennonite Fellowship in Elmira and in earlier years filled many positions at Glen Allan Mennonite. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Sunday, July 18th from 6 - 9 p.m. A celebration of Ray's life will take place at Emmanuel Evangelical Missionary Church, Elmira on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. followed by cremation.     Probe Not Decided In Gravel Pit Death

    It has not been decided whether an inquest will be held into the death of Donald Cressman, 39, of RR 2, Preston, who was killed Saturday when his front-end loader overturned in a gravel pit on the farm of Alfred Schnaeringer, RR 2, Breslau. A post-mortem was conducted Saturday.

    Mr. Cressman, who was found by Mrs. Rex Weber, was pinned beneath the rear wheels of the tractor. The pit is operated by brothers Rex and Paul Weber, through R.and P. Weber Concrete Products Ltd.

    Mr. Cressman was born at Breslau Jan 4, 1926, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Cressman of Kitchener, A resident of the Breslau area all his life, he was employed at R. and P. Concrete Products, RR 2, Breslau. He was a member and trustee of Breslau United Missionary Church.

    Surviving besides his parents are his wife, the former Shirley Mader; two sons, Raymond and Terry, both at home; one daugh- ter, Peggy, also at home; two brothers, Willard Cressman, Hanover, and Leonard of Edson, Alta.; and three sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Verda) Lichty, Hespeler, Mrs. Harold (Erla) Brubacher, Waterloo, and Mrs. Roy (Florence) Kreider, serving as a missionary in Israel.

    The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Wednesday at 11 a.m. when removal will be made to Breslau United Missionary Church where friends may pay their respects until the service at 3 p.m. Rev. Harold Boadway, minister of the church, will have charge of the service. Interment will be in Cressman Mennonite cemetery, Breslau.

    Donations to the Women's Missionary Society of Breslau United Missionary Church will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.

    CRESSMAN, Jacob, son of Jacob and Villina (Snider) Cressman, was born in Waterloo, Ont., Nov. 30, 1887; died at Fairview Mennonite Home, Mar. 15, 1981; aged 93 y. He was married to Lovina Cressman, who died on Nov. 7, 1937. He was later married to Seleda Heckendorn, who died on May 14, 1974. Surviving are 2 sons (Willard and Leonard), 3 daughters (Verda - Mrs. Gordon Lichty, Erul - Mrs. Harold Brubacher, and Florence - Mrs. Roy Kreider), 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, one brother (Sam), and one sister (Lizzie). He was preceded in death by one son (Donald, Oct. 30, 1965) and one daughter (Mary, May 11, 1919). He was a member of the Breslau Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Mar. 19, in charge of Jim Ruesser and Erwin Wiens; interment in Breslau Mennonite Cemetery.

    CRESSMAN, Jacob -- Peacefully at Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge, on Sunday, March 15, 1981, following a brief illness, Jacob Cressman, aged 93 years, of 799 Concession Rd., Cambridge. He was a member of the Breslau Mennonite Church. Lovingly remembered by sons, Willard of Hanover, Leonard of Edson, Alta and daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Verda) Lichty of Allenford, Mrs. Harold (Eral) Brubacher of RR 1, Waterloo, Mrs. Roy (Florence) Kreider of Israel; brother of Sam and Mrs. Lizzie Ann Stevanus, both of Cambridge. Sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by his first wife Lovina Cressman; his second wife the former Seleda Heckendorn; one son, Donald; one daughter, Mary; three brothers and four sisters. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after Tuesday at 7 p.m. until noon Thursday, when removal will be made to the Breslau Mennonite Church for funeral service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Erwin Wiens officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.

    Cressman.-Lovina Cressman was born April 18, 1889; died in St.Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Nov. 7, 1937; aged 48 y. 6 m. 20 d. Dec. 2, 1914 she was married to Jacob Cressman. To this union were born 7 children. There remain to mourn her early departure, her loving husband, 3 daughters (Verda, wife of Gordon Lichty, Eral and Florence), 3 sons (Willard, Leonard, and Donald), besides a large relationship and many friends. Sister Cressman was converted in her 19th year and united with the Mennonite Church in which communion she remained a faithful loyal member until she was called home. The funeral was held Nov. 10 from her late home near Breslau, to the Cressman Mennonite Church, Breslau, for services. Minister in charge, Bro. Oscar Burkholder. Texts, Job 16: 25; II Tim. 1: 12.

    Mrs. Orville H. Mader, 70, of Kitchener, died Wednesday, Mar. 30, at K-W Hospital, following a short illness. The former Flossie May Schiedel, she was horn in Breslau and lived there until moving to Kitchener seven years ago. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Women's Guild of the Church.

She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.
    Funeral services were held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Friday, with Rev. L. E. Wentzlaff officiating. Burial was in Cressman Mennonite Cemetery in Breslau.

    Jacob S. Cressman, "the second son, was born September 11th, 1859. On October 21st, 1884, he was married to Villina, daughter of Isaac and Nancy (Sitler) Snider. She was born August 24th, 1863. They reside on the west side of the Grand River, about two miles south of Conestogo where he is engaged in farming. To them are born seven children, (In December, 1893, Jacob was ordained as deacon for the Schneider field of labor of the Mennonite body)"

    Cressman-Jacob S. Cressman was born near Strasburg, Ont., 1859; died Jan. 24, 1926; Aged 66 y. 4 m. 13 d. He died of heart failure in the Bloomingdale Mennonite Church where he had gone to kindle a fire for the morning service. He walked about one-half mile to the church and was near the furnace just about in the act of lighting the fire when the unseen messenger called. He leaves his companion, 5 sons, 5 daughters, 22 grandchildren, 5 brothers, and 7 sisters. He united with the Mennonite Church in his 28th year and later was ordained deacon, in which capacity he served until death.

Her husband passed away in 1926, and she was also preceded in death by one son (Alson) and 2 daughters (Villina and Hilda). Funeral services were in charge of Oscar Burkholder and John W. Snyder at the Snyder Mennonite Church, Bloomingdale, Ont., with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    Cressman.-Cyrus Cressman was born June 13, 1845; died at the home of his son, Isaiah, near Kitchener, Ont., on Feb. 9, 1928; aged 82 y. 7 m. 27 d. On Dec. 24, 1871, he was married to Mary Horst, who predeceased him 19 years. To this union were born 7 sons and 4 daughters, 2 sons, David and Cyrus, having preceded him in death. There remain to mourn his departure 5 sons (Isaiah, of Kitchener; Noah, Levi, and John of Breslau; Allan of Alberta), 4 daughters, (Mrs. Enoch Bauman, Elmira; Mrs. Lloyd Shantz, Maggie of Alberta; Mrs. Jacob Cressman, of Breslau), and one sister, Mrs. Mary Clemens, Breslau. Before his marriage he united with the Mennonite Church in which communion he spent his closing years. He left a testimony of peace with God, and a desire to depart this life and be with Him. Funeral services were held on Feb. 13 at the First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, with the brethren C.F. Derstine and Oscar Burkholder in charge of the services. Text, II Kings 20: 1.     Mrs. Samantha Schiedel

    Taken to Toronto General Hospital two months ago, where she under-went two operations, Mrs. Samantha Schiedel of Breslau, passed away there on Jan, 30 in her 66th year. Mrs. Schiedel was the relict of the late Jacob M. Schiedel, who passed a was 15 years ago. She was born at Shantz Station, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abram C. Shantz and attended the Breslau M.B.C. Mennonite Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Orville H. Mader, Breslau, two sons, Roy and Nelson, Breslau, and 19 grandchildren. Four brothers, Nelson and Irvine Shantz, Kitchener, Joseph and Abram, Breslau, and four sisters, Mrs. John Shiry, Kitchener, Mrs. Joel Gole, Richan, Ont., Mrs. Daniel Brox, Spruce Grove, Alta., and Mrs. Peter Martin, R.R. 3, Kitchener, also survive. The funeral was held Sunday from the home at 2 o'clock and thence to Cressman Mennonite Church followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
