McCORMICK, James "Jim" - It is with great sadness that the family of James Earl (Jim) McCormick announces his passing to his eternal reward on Sunday, May 17, 2009. Jim's courage, positive attitude and determination to win over his illnesses were and will always be an inspiration to our family. He was optimistic and hopeful to the end. Our sincere thanks to the family of the donor of the liver and for the professional care given by the doctors and nurses at University Hospital, London and Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Survived by his loving wife, Pat (Johnston) McCormick. Dear father of John and Susan of Guelph, Mike and Tina of Princeton, Ron and Rosemary of Bamberg, Dale and Anita of Woodstock and Dwayne of Kitchener. Papa "Jimmy" to Emily and Sarah; Kayla and Jessica; Josephine, Mary Ellen, Mason and Marshall; Celia, Annika, Paul, Mark and John. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joyce and Don Zinger of RR 2, Elmira, Mary Lou and Bill Armstrong of Kitchener, Bob and Doreen McCormick of Brantford and Edna McCormick of Elmira. Predeceased by his parents, William and Marie (Walter) McCormick; his sister, Anne Nowak and his brothers, Lavalle, Fred and Ken. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph's RC Church, Macton on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. with Father Robert Hétu officiating followed by interment in St. Joseph's RC Cemetery, Macton. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. In his memory, donations to the Transplant Unit of University Hospital, London or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Funeral service was held December 27 in Elmira for William B. McCormick, of 4 Water street east, Elmira. He died December 23, 1986, at St. Mary's hospital. He was 84.

He was the husband of Marie Walter; father of LaValle McCormick, of Hamilton, Fred McCormick, of Whitehorse, Yukon, Mary Lou (Mrs. William Armstrong). of Kitchener, Robert McCormick, of Brantford, Kenneth McCormick and Joyce (Mrs. Donald Zinger), both of Elmira, and James McCormick, of RRI Wallenstein; brother of Bertha Shantz, of Kitchener; also survived by 40 grandchildren and 15 great-grand children; predeceased by one daughter, Anna Nowak, two brothers, Edward and Albert McCormick, and one grandson, Bradley Zinger.

Burial was in St. Teresa's Romant Catholic cemetery, Elmira.

(Marie) Peacefully, on Sunday. Sept. 22, 1991, at Chateau Gardens. Elmira, Marie (Walter) McCormick, in her 85th year.

Beloved wife of the late William B. McCormick (1986); dear mother of LaValle McCormick of Hamilton, Mary Lou and William Armstrong of Kitchener. Bob and Vi McCormick of London, Ont., Ken and Edna McCormick of Elmira, James and Patricia McCormick of RR 1. Wallenstein. Joyce and Don Zinger of Elmira. Fondly remembered by her 37 grand children and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son. Fred, one daughter. Anne: one grandson, Bradley Zinger; two brothers, Wilfred and Allie Walter, one brother and one sister in infancy

Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after 7 p.m.. today (Monday), where the family. will receive friends tonight (Monday) 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Wednesday morning at 9:45 a.m., then to St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, Elmira, for funeral mass at 10 a.m., with Father Fred Bechely, CR, officiating, followed by interment in St. Teresa's RC cemetery.
