    George Wing, "George was married to Elizabeth Carsten, a native of Bavaria. After emigrating to America he settled temporarily near Baltimore, Maryland, and from there they moved to Rochester, New York. In 1832 they left Rochester and moved to Canada. They settled in Waterloo County, Ontario, a few miles south-east of Baden, at a place known as Wilmot Centre. Here they resided for a number of years, then the old pioneer sold his place and purchased a farm near New Hamburg, near Hostetler's and C. Christner's. When well advanced in years they moved to Hay Township, Huron County, where he died in 1874, aged 76 years, and she died about the year 1889, aged 86 years. To them was born a family of ten children"

When a young man Mr. Jones came to Canada and settled near Preston where he was soon married to Martha, daughter of John Philip and Veronica (Gingerich) Saltzberger. She was born October 20th, 1808, and died in Blenheim Township, Oxford County, February 14th, 1885. They resided in different places of Waterloo and Oxford Counties, Ontario. He died October 30th, 1859. To them was born a family of fifteen children"

    John Philip Saltzberger, "a native of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, came to Canada in 1802. He was born June 21st, 1780, and died December 29th, 1860. On September 22nd, 1805, he was married to Veronica Gingerich, sister to old David Gingerich and daughter of old Abraham Gingerich. She was born in 1781 and died in 1810. After the decease of his first wife, he was again married to Mary, daughter of John and Nancy (Bechtel) Biehn. She was the first white child born in the township of Waterloo and quite likely the first in the county. She was born April 24th, 1801, and died September 29th, 1889. They were married in September, 1819."
