    BENJAMIN MILLER

Benjamin Miller, a respected farmer of North Woolwich, passed away last Thursday night and was laid to rest in the Evangelical cemetery at North Woolwich on Sunday afternoon.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his beloved wife and four children; three daughters and one son: Margaret (Mrs. David Bott); Hannah (Mrs. Harvey Schmidt); Mary Ann (Mrs. George Schwindt) and Earl at home. There are also about twelve grandchildren. Five brothers likewise survive: John, N. Woolwich; Peter, Elmira; Fred, Kitchener; Jacob, Moorefield and Moses, Missouri.

The deceased was born in North Woolwich in 1861 and spent all his life in farming in that district. He died of a particularly dreadful form of that loathsome disease cancer, of which he is said to have suffered for the past fifteen years. It got so bad that the tongue was all eaten away, and for many months he could take no solid food. But the deceased bore all suffering and discomfort in a true Christian spirit never murmuring. He was a valued member of the North Woolwich Evangelical congregation and for years its Sunday School superintendent.

A large number of relatives and friends paid a last tribute of respect to the departed by attending the funeral. The pallbearers were: John Wagner, George Edler, George Schneider, Charles Koepke, Levi Bowman and Mr. Moldenhauer. Rev. E.H. Bean conducted the funeral service assisted by Rev. F. G. Brows of Tavistock, a former pastor of the deceased.
