    Donald Angus MacMillan

    A lifelong resident of North Dumfries Township, Donald Angus MacMillan of Hwy. 24A, RR 4, Galt, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 13th. He was 58. Mr. MacMillan was a son of the late William MacMillan, an area carpenter, and the former Sarah Letson. As a young man he worked on area farms. He served overseas during World War II with the 83rd Batt., Royal Canadian Artillery. Following the war he was employed for 27 years as a machine operator at Shirley and Dietrich and Atkins in Galt. For the past nine years he had been a tool and cutter grinder at Sehl Engineering (MTD) in Kitchener. Mr. MacMillan was a member of the Grand Valley Flyers Club, whose members build and fly large, radio controlled model planes. For over a dozen years he had been a member of the former Galt Police Force auxiliary. Mr. MacMillan married Bertha Schraam in 1946. They celebrated their 35th anniversary this past fall. The couple resided on Hwy. 24A for the last 26 years. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Donna (Mrs. David Mitchell) of Ayr; three sons, Robert of RR 2, Princeton, Douglas of Preston and Kevin at home; two brothers, Leroy of RR 3, Ayr, and Ralph of RR 4, Galt; and seven grandchildren. A brother, Archie, predeceased him five years ago. Funeral and committal services were held at Coutts and Son Funeral Home, Galt, on Saturday afternoon. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.

    MACMILLAN, WILLIAM ANDREW

    A well known Ayr district resident, on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1965, at his home at R. R. #3, Bright. Mr. McMillan was in his 72nd year and had been in ailing health for several months. He was born in Puslinch Township, son of the late Donald McMillan and Barbara McTaggart. He was a carpenter and worked in the district for many years. Survived by his wife, Sarah Letson; four sons, Leroy of R. R. #3, Ayr; Archie, Donald and Ralph of R. R. #4, Galt (Highway 24A). Service at the W. O. Ball Funeral Home in Ayr on Sat. , Jan. 23 at 2. Interment Ayr Cemetery.

    William A. MacMillan Passes

    A well-known carpenter and builder in this district, William A. MacMillan passed away at his home on the 10th concession of Blenheim on Wednesday in his 72nd year. He had been in ill health for some time. The late Mr. MacMillan was born in Puslinch Township, a son of the late Donald MacMillan and Barbara Taggert MacMillan. After moving to this district he resided for some time northeast of Ayr prior to moving to his late residence. He was an accomplished carpenter and builder and his services were always in demand throughout the area. Surviving besides his wife, the former Sarah Letson, are four sons, LeRoy, RR 3, Ayr; Archie, Donald and Ralph, RR 4, Galt, and several grandchildren.

    The Funeral

    Funeral service was held on Saturday at the W. O. Ball Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Andrew Denholm of Paris. Interment was made in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Wallace Dance and Richard Barrie, RR 3, Bright; Donald Robson and John Welsh, RR 3, Ayr; Ernest White and William White, Ayr.
