    Holst, Jacob, son of the late George and Louisa (Hartung) Holst, was born near New Hamburg, Ont., Dec. 13, 1881; died at his home near Petersburg, Ont., Jan. 8, 1958; aged 77 y. 26 d. On Sept. 2, 1914, he was untied in marriage to Annie Holtsworth, who survives. Also surviving are ten children, 7 sons and 3 daughters (Albert, Petersburg; Harvey, Kitchener; Delton, New Hamburg; George, Petersburg; Clarence, St. Agatha; John, St. Jacobs; Walter, Kitchener; Irene, Petersburg; Viola, Freeport; and Luella, St. Jacobs), one sister (Mrs. Mary Ann Burchatski), and 25 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were one daughter (Margaret, in infancy), 2 brothers (Eli and David) , and one sister (Elisabeth-Mrs. Isaiah Martin). N his youth he united with the Mennonite Church and at the time of his death was a member of the Blenheim Church, near New Dundee. Funeral services were held at the church, Jan. 11, in charge of Arnold Cressman, assisted by Moses H. Roth and Elmer Grove, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    Holst.- Catherine Annie, daughter of John and Lydia (Ringler) Holtzworth, was born in Logan Twp., Ont., Aug. 29, 1891; died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., Sept. 25, 1982; aged 91 y. On Sept. 2, 1914, she was married to Jacob Holst, who preceded her in death. Surviving are 6 sons (Albert, Harvey, Delton, George, Clarence, and John), 3 daughters (Irene, Viola, and Luella Souder), 42 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son (Walter) and one daughter (Margaret). She was a member of Mannheim Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Sept. 28, in charge of James Reusser and Gordon Bauman; interment in Blenheim Mennonite Cemetery.

    ZEHR, Eli On Thursday, March 10, 1986, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Eli Zehr, of 62 George St., New Hamburg. He was born in South Easthope township 82 years ago.

    Son of the late Jacob R. Zehr and the former Anna Ruby. Beloved husband of the former Sara Wagler, whom he married Devember 12, 1979. Lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Ellen Irene and her husband Albert Holst of RR 2, Petersburg and Victoria Mae and her husband Clarence Holst of RR 1, St. Agatha. sadly missed by 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Irene Kipfer of Kitchener; two brothers Delmar of Brampton and Aldine of Burlington; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Selena Zehr of Poole, Mrs. Violet Brenneman and Mrs. Vera Ruby, both of New Hamburg; one brother-in-law, aaron Roth of Tavistock.

    Eli was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, after 7 p.m. today, until Sunday, March 23 at noon, when transfer will be made to St. Agatha Mennonite Church for service at 3 p.m., with Rev. Darryl Jantzi officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.

    The late Mr. Zehr is resting at the Omand-Jutzi Funeral Home 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, until noon Tuesday, August 1, when removal will be made to Steinman Mennonite Church Route 2, Baden, where funeral service will be conducted at 2: 30 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Zehr and Rev. Elmer Schwartzentruber officiating. Interment to follow in church cemetery

    ZEHR, Sarah Peacefully at her residence, Nithview Community, New Hamburg, on Monday, February 7, 2011, Sarah Zehr, formerly of St. Agatha and Haysville. She was born in Wilmot Township 99 years ago, a daughter of the late Isaac and Catherine (Litwiller) Wagler. She was a member of the St. Agatha Mennonite Church where she was a member of the WMSC. Sarah enjoyed quilting, baking and playing games with her grandchildren and neighbours. Beloved wife of Eli Zehr who predeceased her March 20, 1986. Loving mother of Ellen and Albert (predeceased) Holst and Mae and Clarence (predeceased) Holst both of New Hamburg.     Holst - George, son of the late Charles Holst was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Nov. 8, 1856; died very suddenly May 19, 1938, at the home of his son Jacob, where he had been visiting for a few days; aged 82 y. 2 m. 11 d. He was united in marriage 57 years ago to Louisa, daughter of the late Daniel Hartnig, who predeceased him 16 years ago. He accepted Christ in his youth and was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church since his marriage. He leaves 3 sons (Jacob, David and Eli, all of Wilmot) and 2 daughters (Mrs. Marion Burchatski of New Hamburg; Elizabeth, wife of Isaiah Martin on the homestead), 22 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 brother and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted May 21 from his home to the Geiger Mennonite Church, in charge of Bro. M. Hallman. Text, 1 Pet. 1: 3-5. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.

She resided in the city of Kitchener for the past 10 years, coming from Mannheim, and was a member of the Latschar Mennonite Church. Surviving are the husband, 2 sons, and 3 daughters (Albert and Norman of Petersburg, Mrs. Jacob Holst of Pine Hill, Mrs. Edgar Asmussen of Kitchener, and Mrs. Edward Rueffer of Petersburg). Three sons and two daughters preceded her. Eighteen grandchildren and one brother (Jacob Ringler), also survive. Funeral on Monday, March 5, from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Asmussen, to the Latschar Mennonite Church. Burial in the adjoining cemetery. Conducted by Bro. Manasseh Hallman, Mannheim, text, Psa. 23.

    Zehr. --- Jacob R., son of Dr. Joseph R. and Mary (Roeschley) Zehr, was born in East Zorra, Ont., Dec. 28, 1872. He accepted Christ as his Saviour in his younger years and was a lifelong member of East Zorra A. M. congregation. On Oct. 17, 1899, he was joined in holy matrimony to Annie Ruby of East Zorra. To this union were born 4 sons and 1 daughter. She predeceased him on Feb. 4, 1919, also 1 son (Irvin). On Oct. 21, 1919, he was united in holy matrimony to Laura Ruby (nee Gingerich). To this union were born 3 sons of whom 1 predeceased him. He passed to his reward Jan. 23, 1940, at his home in South Easthope; aged 67 y. 25 d. He leaves his beloved companion, 5 sons and 1 daughter (Jonas of Milverton, Elias of St. Agatha, Omar of Woodstock, Delmer and Aldine, at home, Mrs. Urias Kipfer of Baden, Ont.); also 1 stepson (Elmer Ruby of Milverton), 2 stepdaughters (Gertie, wife of A. B. Roth, Tavistock; Drusilla, wife of Jos. Wagler, East Zorra), and 25 grandchildren (4 grandchildren predeceased him), 3 brothers, and 3 sisters (Peter and Moses of Albany, Oreg.; Emery of Ayr, Ont.; Katie, wife of John Brenneman, New Hamburg, Ont.; Clara, wife of Amos Brenneman, Kitchener, Ont.; Vera, wife of Ed Schwartzentruber, Milverton, Ont.). The body was laid to rest in adjoining cemetery.

    Wagler. - Isaac, son of the late Christian and Magdalene Wagler, was born Jan. 18, 1872; died Aug. 13, 1947; aged 75 y. 6 m. 26 d. Early in youth he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and united with the Wilmot A. M. Church, Baden, Ont., of which he was a member at the time of his death. On Feb. 9, 1897 he was united in marriage to Catharine Litwiller, who survives.     Isaac Wagler

    BADEN, Aug. 14. - The death occurred at St. Agatha yesterday of Isaac Wagler, 75 The deceased was born in Wilmot Township, Jan. 18, 1872. His death followed a lingering illness. He was a son of the late Christian and Magdalene Wagler.

    Surviving are his widow, Catherine Litwiller; two sons, Elmer of New Hamburg, Ervin of St. Agatha: 3 eight daughters Mrs. Noah (Victoria) Boshart, Baden, Mrs. John (Ida) Dietz, Waterloo, Mrs. John (Katie) Leis. New Hamburg. Mrs. Elmer (Mattie) Schwartzentruber, Baden, Mrs. Eli (Sarah) Zehr, St. Agatha. Mrs. Erie (Vera) Schulz, Kitchener, Mrs. Ervin (Verna) Zehr, Milver- ton, Mrs. Jonas (Laura) Wagler, St. Agatha; two sisters, Mrs. Jonathan Jantzi, Kitchener, and Mrs. C. B. Jantzi, Pine Hill. Thirty-nine grand- children and two great grandchildren survive. Two sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren predeceased him.

    A service will be held at the home of his son-in-law, Eli Zehr. St. Agatha at 2:00p.m., Saturday. A public service will be held at the St. Agatha A.M. Church. Interment will be made in St. Agatha A.M Cemetery. Rev. Benjamin Gingerich will officiate.
