At the residence, R. R. #2, Puslinch, on Monday, January 8, 1940, in his 76th year. Husband of Alice Rebecca Hilliard [should read Hellyer]. He had been ill for three weeks. Born at Preston, he lived for over thirty years on his Puslinch farm. He was a member of Crieff Presbyterian Church. Survived by four sons, Robert and Sylvester of Galt; Percy of Hespeler; Gordon at home; three daughters, Mrs. William Jahneke of Kossuth; Mrs. Hector Parker of Stanford; Mrs. Wes. Kerns of R. R #2 Puslinch; two sisters, Mrs. George Hubert of Galt; Mrs. Henry Hubert of Seattle, Washington; and seven grandchildren. Funeral to Killean Cemetery."

At the residence of her son-in-law, William Jahnckle of R. R. #2, Preston, early on Wednesday morning, February 8, 1950. Wife of the late Robert Burmaster. She was born in Kenilworth, ON and lived for many years in Puslinch Township. For the past ten years, she lived with her son-in-law. Mrs. Burmaster was a Presbyterian. Surviving are two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Wesley Kearns) of Puslinch; Rosie (Mrs. William Jahncke; four sons, Robert and Percy of Galt; Sylvester and Gordon of R. R. #1, Hespeler; one brother, William Hellyer of Kennilworth; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Sault of Valens; Mrs. Mary Cassidy of St. Catharines; and Mrs. Mabel Davies of Aylmer. Funeral service at the W. R. Coutts Funeral Home in Galt on Sat. , Feb 11 at 2. Interment in Killean Cemetery.

In the Township of Puslinch, Ludwig Burmeister (Bob's father) made boots and shoes for the neighborhood and Henry Sohrt conducted a shop at Kossuth for many years with sometimes six hands working. When I was a boy, Mr. Sohrt used to come to our house of a Saturday night, take the measure for a couple of pairs of shoes, bring them the week after and measure up two more of us. Both these men specialized in children's top boots with copper toes and red tops.

BURMEISTER, FREDERICKA (Nee Krampan) At 3 o'clock in the morning of Thursday, aged 74 years. Relict of Ludwig Burmeister. Mrs. Burmeister had been ill with a paralytic stroke for three years. She was born in Germany and came to Canada as a young woman, locating in Preston, where she married Mr. Burmeister. Later, they removed to Puslinch, where she resided some thirty-five years, coming to Galt about five years ago. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. Her eldest son, Louis Burmeister died in Vancouver in December. The remaining members are Robert in Puslinch; William in Vancouver; Mrs. George Hubert, Miss Martha and Mrs. Thomas Shea. Mr. Burmeister died sixteen years ago, on the 2^nd of June. The funeral was held from the residence of her son-in-law, George Hubert of Hunter St. in Galt, on Saturday at 3 to Mount View Cemetery.
