A-2-68 Gelgian Zurbrügg The Last Will and Testament of Gelgian Zurbrügg late of the Township of Wilmot, Yeoman, who died on or about the first day of April in the year of our Lord 1860 at the Township of Wilmot, and who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at Wilmot…was proved and registered in the said Surrogate Court a true copy of which said Last Will and Testament is hereunder written, and that the Administration of all and singular the personal estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased….was granted to Jacob Muerner the younger of the Township of South East Hope in the County of Perth, the Executor named in the said will

…I Gelgian Zurbrügg of the Township of Wilmot do make publish and declare this as and for my Last Will and Testament…My will is that my body be decently buried and that my just debts and funeral charges shall be paid by my Executor hereinafter named. And my will is that my Executors hereinafter named shall after my decease sell and dispose of all the property real personal and mixed that I shall leave (except one bed and bedding as hereinafter bequeathed). And I give him ample power and authority so to do, and to execute and deliver deeds for the conveyance thereof and out of the net avails that shall remain in the hands of my said Executor after paying my just debts and funeral charges, I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Zurbrügg one bed stead and bedding (and being the one above excepted) to have and to hold the same to her and her heirs and assigns for ever. I also give to her the use of the interest of the one third part of the said net avails of my estate, to have and to hold the same for and during her widowship or so long as she is and remains to be my widow and no longer than the interest of the said one third part shall cease to be paid to her, and the same shall be equally divided to and amongst my heirs at Law hereinafter named. I give and bequeath to my son Samuel Zurbrügg two hundred dollars, to have and to hold the same to him his heirs and assigns to his and their use for ever, also, I give and bequeath to my son Christian Zurbrügg, my daughter Maria Zurbrügg, and my daughter Elizabeth Zurbrügg the sum of one hundred dollars to be equally divided to and amongst them, to have and to hold to them their heirs and assigns to their several and respective use for ever. And of all the rest and residue of my said estate, real personal and mixed and the proceeds thereof, I give devise and bequeath to be equally divided to and among (in said part) my sons and daughters, John Zurbrügg, Elizabeth Zurbrügg, Christian Zurbrügg, Maria Zurbrügg, Elizabeth Zurbrügg [sic] and Samuel Zurbrügg, to have and to hold to them and to each of them their heirs and assigns to their several and respective use for ever. Lastly I do nominat and appoint my friend Jacob Meurner the younger of the Township of South East Hope in the County of Perth, Yeoman, to be my Executor of this my Last Will and Testament…
