    BROWN, CHARLES JAMES

    Suddenly, at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital in Galt, on Friday evening, May 26, 1972, of 78 Queen St. West in Hespeler, formerly of Puslinch Township, in his 85th year, following a brief illness. Husband of the late Bertha Viola Chester (Sept. 1971). Father of James and Chester, both of Hespeler; Ethel (Mrs. Ralph Parsons); and Alice (Mrs. Leonard Bowman), both of R. R. #2, Hespeler; Ruth (Mrs. Edward Seaton) of River Road in Hespeler; and Eleanor (Mrs. Neil Keegan) of San Francisco. Also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Brown was a resident of the Hespeler-Puslinch Township area for over sixty years. He was born in England on January 29, 1888. He was a member of Hespeler United Missionary Church. Funeral service at the Nelson Funeral Home, 23 Galt St. in Hespeler, on Tues. , May 30 at 2. Interment Hespeler Cemetery.

    Charles married Bertha Viola Chester 24 Jan 1912, Puslinch Twp., Wellington Co., Ontario, Canada. Bertha (daughter of Benjamin Chester and Catherine Hammett) was born Between 1885 and 1886; died 13 Sep 1971, Galt (Cambridge), Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; was buried , New Hope Cemetery, Hespeler (Cambridge), Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada.
