    Owen Bern Dunbrook 1923-2018

    Owen passed away peacefully at his residence, Columbia Forest Long Term Care in Waterloo, on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in his 95th year.

    He is together again with his beloved wife Elizabeth L. Carmichael (2017). Loving father of Alan, Kevin (Karen) and Greg (Pauline) and grandfather of Adam and Alexander. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and acquaintances.

    Predeceased by his parents Emil and Isabelle (Voisin) Dunbrook, brothers Ward and John (Jack), and sisters Mary and Cleo.

    Owen was a 50-year employee of The Forsyth Shirt Company and a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kitchener.

    The Dunbrook family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a procession to Sacred Heart RC Church, 66 Shanley Street, Kitchener for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.

    Bette passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, at Columbia Forest Long Term Care, Waterloo, Ontario in her 92nd year.

    Bette was survived by her husband of 68 years, Owen B. Dunbrook, her sons, Alan, Kevin (Karen) and Greg (Pauline) and grandsons Adam and Alexander.

    Predeceased by her parents, Collingwood Centennial Mayor Allan C. Carmichael (1971) and Zelma Mae Carmichael (Nee Sherk) (1999).

    Bette was a registered nurse, class of 1947. Her career spanned 23 years at Kitchener Waterloo Hospital.

    As per Bette's wishes, a private family visitation and service took place. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.

    At the K-W Hospital, on Wednesday, August 18, 1976, Emil J. Dunbrook, age 82 years, of 43 Delisle Ave., Kitchener.

    Husband of Isabelle Voisin; father of Ward of Kitchener, Jack of Toronto, Owen of Kitchener, Mary (Mrs. John Pawelko) of Port Elgin and Cleo (Mrs. Harold Featherstone) of Lambeth; brother of Harold of Kitchener, Jerome of Kitchener, Emmerson of Kitchener, Charles of Gravenhurst, Randolph of Kitchener, Verna (Mrs. John Willson) of Kitchener and June (Mrs. Ernie Kieswetter) of Waterloo; also survived by 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Predeceased by five brothers, Edward, Joseph, William, Herbert and Alex and his parents, Joseph Dunbrook and the former Catherine Ludwig. He was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church; an honorary Member of Sacred Heart Holy Name Society; employed as a landscape gardener for A. R. Kaufman for over 50 years and had been associated with baseball in Kitchener since 1913 as a player, and managed teams in the early 1940's. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 821 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. this evening. Prayers at the funeral home Saturday at 9: 30 a.m.; then to Sacred Heart RC Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment Memory Gardens. Father J. Bartowicz will officiate.     On Monday, June 6. 1977, at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, after a lengthy illness, Isabelle Voisin, aged 82 years, of 43 Delisle Ave., Kitchener.

    Dear mother of Ward of Kitchener, Jack of Toronto, Owen of Kitchener, Mary (Mrs. John Pawelko) of Port Elgin and Cleo (Mrs. Harold Featherstone), of Lambeth; sister of William and John Voisin, both of Kitchener; also survived by 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; predeceased by her husband Emil J. Dunbrook, on August 18, 1976; two sisters Mrs. Gertrude Brenner and Mrs. Rose Dunbrook, her father John Voisin and her mother the former Wilhelmina Schill. She was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and a honorary member of Sacred Heart CWL Council. Friends may call at the Ratz Bechtel Funeral Home, 821 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. this evening. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday at 9: 30 a.m., then to Sacred Heart RC Church for the funeral mass at 10 a.m. Rev. Father E. Lapinski will officiate. Interment will be made in Memory Gardens. The Altar and Rosary Society will recite prayers on Tuesday at 8 p.m. and the CWL will recite prayers on Wednesday at 8: 30 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Joseph Dunbrook, 83 of 119 Waterloo street, died today at K-W Hospital. Born, Oct. 30, 1868, in Kossuth. He was a former employee of the George J. Lippert Furniture Company Ltd. He was a member of Sacred Hearl RC Church. Surviving are 11 sons, Edward, Emil, Joseph, Alex, Herbert, Jerome, Emerson and Randolph, of Kitchener, Harold and Charles of Toronto and William of Madison. Wis., two daughters, Mrs. John (Verna) Willson, of Kitchener, Mrs. Ernest (June) Kieswetter, of Waterloo; a brother, John Dunbrook of Cleveland, Ohio, a sister, Mrs. Minnie Moore of Cleveland. There are 27 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. One son and two daughters, died in infancy. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, where prayers will be said Thursday, at 8: 30 a.m., followed by removal to Sacred Heart RC Church for requiem high mass, at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Hope RC Cemetery. The rosary will be said at the funeral home, Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.

    Mrs. Joseph Dunbrook, Sr.

    The death occurred early today of Mrs. Joseph Dunbrook Sr., 80, of 119 Waterloo St., in St. Mary's Hospital, after a brief illness. Mrs. Dunbrook, the former Catherine Ludwig, was born in Hawkesville, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ludwig. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Her marriage to Joseph Dunbrook, who survives, took place in Cleveland, Ohio, May 13, 1891. She is also survived by one brother Alex Ludwig of Kitchener, one daughter Mrs. John (Veronica) Willson of Kitchener and 11 sons, Edward, Emil, Joseph Jr., Herbert, Alex, Jerome, Emerson, Randall, all of Kitchener, Harold and Charles of Toronto and William of Madison, Wis. Twenty-three grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, with prayers at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home at 9: 30 a.m. and then at Sacred Heart Church for requiem high mass at 10 a.m. with Rev. James Casey officiating. The rosary will be said at the funeral home Friday at p.m. The body is at the funeral home.
