    BUCHANAN, ELIZABETH (Nee Amos)

    Suddenly, at the Guelph General Hospital, on Friday, September 19, 1947, in her 83rd year. Wife of the late W. W. Buchanan. Her husband, Walter W. Buchanan was the second person to succumb to injuries received, when two cars collided Thursday night on Paisley Road, four miles from Guelph. The first death was his wife, of the same age, who passed away shortly before noon yesterday. Their son, Wallace Buchanan of 332 Glengrove Ave., Toronto, believed driver of the car, is still in critical condition, with possibly a fractured skull. His wife sustained lesser injuries and has since left the hospital. Nyle Weber, 16, of Breslau, who was hurled through the windshield, has a fractured pelvis, cracked arm and a broken bone in his right hand. Rodney Weber, 18, said driver of the second car, escaped serious injury, suffering chiefly from shock. Mrs. Buchanan, was a daughter of Gilbert Amos and Mary Anne Dickieson and was born in Paisley Block, Guelph Township. She was active in Paisley Block Women's Missionary Society. Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan planned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their marriage next March. They leave three sons and a daughter: Robert Loyal Buchanan and Gilbert Amos Buchanan, both of Guelph Township; Walter Wallace Buchanan of Toronto, who also was hurt critically in the accident; and Margaret Joy (Mrs. Melvin Turner) of Montreal; also five grandchildren. Rested at the McLanaghan and Ross Funeral Home, 206 Norfolk St. , Guelph until Tues. , Sept. 23 at 11. Thence to Knox Presbyterian Church, where funeral service was held at 2. Entombment Woodlawn Mausoleum.

    Weber, Ethel Irene, daughter of J. Adolphus and Alice (Holder) Spitzmesser, was born in Anderson, Ind., June 3, 1989; died at Owen Sound, May 17, 1980; aged 81 y. On Nov. 21, 1919, she was married to Burton B. Weber, who died on Oct. 14, 1978. Surviving are 4 daughters (Wanda-Mrs. Willard Toman, Betty-Mrs. H. Bautz, Audrey-Mrs. W. Kois, and Ruth-Mrs. H. Krepschmann), 5 sons (Rex, Glen, Rod, Nyle, and Paul), 33 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers. Funeral services were held on May 21, in charge of Ernie Martin and Erwin Wiens; interment in Breslau Mennonite Church Cemetery.

    KINSIE Mrs. Maurice (Pearl) - At St. Mary's Hospital, Monday, April 12, 1976, after a brief illness, Pearl Weber, of Route 2, Breslau, age 77 years. Mrs. Kinsie was born in Woolwich Township, a daughter of the late Josiah Weber and the former Mary Ann Lichty, and was a member of Cressman Mennonite Church, Breslau. Predeceased by her husband, Maurice Kinsie, in 1961, by a son, Robert, in infancy, three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are a daughter, Frances, (Mrs. Nyle Weber) of Route 2, Elmwood and two sons, Archie Kinsie of Cambridge (Hespeler) and Alex Kinsie of Breslau, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends called at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, until noon on Thursday, when removal was made to Cressman Mennonite Church for the services at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Cressman officiating. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.

They reside on his brother Daniel's farm, known as the old "Histand Place." They have a family of ten children, namely: VII Matilda, VII Leah, VII Jeremiah, VII Leander (dead), VII Malinda, VII Isaiah, VII Addison, VII Susannah, VII Malissa, and VII Alvin."

    Weber.-Levi Weber was born Mar. 14, 1850, on a farm where part of the city of Kitchener, Ont., now stands; died Oct. 24, 1923, at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital after about two days' illness with pneumonia; aged 73 y. 7 m. 10 d. He was married to Susannah Bowman who died a little over three years ago. Eleven children were born to this union of whom seven survive (Mrs. Moses Schmitt, Jeremiah, Abram, Burton, Mrs. Harvey Bricker, Mrs. Joseph Cressman, Mrs. S. S. Shantz). There are also a number of grandchildren, besides two brothers and four sisters to mourn his departure. He united with the Mennonite Church in his young years, lived a consistent life to the end, and also had the satisfaction of seeing all his children accept their Saviour. Funeral services Oct. 28 from the home of his son-in-law, Bro. Joseph Cressman, to the First Mennonite Church for services which were conducted by the brethren, U. K. Weber and Abram Gingrich.

    Weber. - Sister Susannah Bowman, beloved wife of Bro. Levi M. Weber, was born in Waterloo County, Ont., on Sept. 8, 1852 and died at the home of her son-in-law, Bro. Joseph Cressman, Kitchener, Ont., on Sept. 11, 1920. The cause of her death was heart trouble and dropsy. Her age was 68 y. 3 d. There were eleven children in the family, seven of whom survivie, viz., Leah, wife of Pre. Moses Schmitt; and Jeremiah of Saskatchewan, Melissa, wife of Harvey Bricker; Abram and Burton of Alberta; Melinda, wife of Joseph Cressman, Kitchener, and Susannah, wife of S. S. Shantz, missionaries at Jebba, West Africa. Funeral on Sept. 15. Service at the house by Bro. U. K. Weber and at the First Mennonite Church by the Brethren Jonas Snider and Allan Good.

    Weber. --- Josiah Weber, was born Oct. 13, 1864; died after an illness of a few months; aged 75 y. 6 m. 11 d. On Feb. 26, 1889, he was married to Mary Ann Lichty, who predeceased him in 1921. To this union were born 6 children who survive, namely, Nelson, Orton, Ion, Altana (Mrs. Norman R. Martin), all of Elmira, Pearl (Mrs. Maurice Kinsie) of Breslau, and Ella (Mrs. Reuben Dettwiler) of Floradale. Two brothers (Israel and Sidney of Elmira) also survive. The Lord has been very gracious and longsuffering in lengthening out his days to a time during his last illness, in which he confessed Christ as his personal Saviour, desired baptism, and was received into the Church. And so we mourn not as those who have no hope. Bro. O. D. Snyder conducted the service. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
