    Notes:

    James A. Black died suddenly at his home, 19 Mary Street, early Sunday morning of a heart condition. A resident of Kitchener for 33 years, he was 47 years of age. He was born in Damascus, Ont. Mr. Black was an employee of the W. E. Woefle Shoe Company for 22 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo. Surviving are his wife, two sons, William and James Jr., one daughter, Lois, all at home, and by his father David Black, and one sister, Mrs. Rozel Wray, also of Kitchener. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Letter and Dreisinger Funeral Home with interment in Woodland Cemetery. Rev. C. A. Roberts, pastor of St. John's Church, will conduct the services.

    Black, Ruby Anna - Passed away, on Monday, April 24, 1995, at her residence, Trinity Village Care Centre, formerly of 19 Mary St., Kitchener, at the age of 91 years. Mrs. Black was a faithful and longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a past Sunday school teacher. Former employee of Eatons Department Store. Dear mother of William E. Black and his wife Janet of Cambridge, Lois Black of Kitchener, James A. (Sandy) Black and his wife Jean of Streetsville. Also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, James A. Black on March 22, 1942; three brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Black's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Thursday from 2-3 p.m. Funeral and committal service in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m. with Reverend Elizabeth Pugh officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. Donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.

    David John Black of 118 Shanley Street, widower, who died at noon yesterday in his 77th year, was born Oct. 28, 1867, at Grand Valley, Ont., was employed by the C.N.R. for 25 years and attended Benton Street Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Samuel Black and Jane Alexander. His wife's name was Kathrine Ziegler. Mrs. Rozel Wray of Kitchener is the only survivor. Public funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 o'clock from the Schreiter- Sandrock Funeral Home, where the remains are now resting, with interment in Woodland Cemetery. Rev. E. H. Thamer will officiate.

    Mrs. Catherine B. Black

    The death occurred yesterday afternoon at the K-W Hospital at 5 o'clock of Catherine Barbara, wife of David J. Black, 118 Shanley street. She was in her 65th year. Mrs. Black, who was born in Arthur, Nov. 25, 1867, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ziegler, was married in that place in 1889 to David J. Black. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church. Her husband, two children, James A., city, and Mrs. George Wray, also city, survive with three brothers, three sisters and five grandchildren. One daughter, Nursing Sister Daisy, predeceased her in 1930. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the home at 3 o'clock and at St. John's Anglican Church at 2.30. Burial will be made in Woodland Cemetery. Rev. H. M. Lang-Ford will be in charge.

    Mr. Jacob A. Ziegler

    Following two weeks illness the death of Jacob A. Ziegler, 111 Waterloo street, occurred yesterday afternoon at his residence, shortly after 2 p.m. due to paralysis. The deceased, born in Heidelberg and a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, was in his 84th year. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Lang, four daughters, Mrs. D. Black, city, Mrs. H. Hertzberger, Clifford, Ont., Mrs. T. Thompson, and Mrs. C. MacMillan, both of Hamilton, two step-daughters, Mrs. C. O. Cremer and Mrs. I. Fowler, both of Toronto, four sons, John of Akron, Ohio, Oscar, Saginaw, Mich., William and Henry Ziegler, both of Kitchener, one brother, Henry Ziegler, Bay City, Mich., two sisters, Mrs. Mary Duench, Elmira and Mrs. L. Plant, Brantford, also 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be publicly held on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from Schreiter's Funeral Home with Rev. H. A. Sperling in charge of the services. Interment will take place in the Mount Hope Cemetery. The remains are resting at the late residence until Tuesday noon, when they will be transferred to the Funeral Home.
