    CUTTING, GORDON HENRY

    Funeral for Mr. Cutting was held on Saturday at 2 at Nelson's Funeral Home in Cambridge. Mr. Cutting, in his 88th year, of R. R. #2, Cambridge, died on Wednesday, October 20, 1982, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Mr. Cutting was born in Puslinch Township. He was a former employee of Domtar Chemicals. He served with the 111th Battalion in the First World War and was a member of the 111th Battalion Association and Branch 272 of the Royal Canadian Legion. Predeceased by his wife, Vera Schmidt. Survived by sons, Arthur and Donald of Cambridge; a daughter, Audrey Baverstock of Cambridge; brothers, Clarence and Melvin of Cambridge; Walter of Port Elgin; sisters, Mrs. Gladys MacGregor, Mrs. Lottie Johnson and Mrs. Olive Garside, all of Cambridge; twelve grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. A memorial service was conducted by Branch 272 of the Royal Canadian Legion at 7 p. m. on Friday. Interment New Hope Cemetery.

    CUTTING, EDWARD

    A resident for thirty years, at his home at R. R. #2, Hespeler, in his 84th year, on Thursday afternoon, December 17, 1953, after an illness of one year. Mr. Cutting had worked twenty-five years with the Stamped and Enamel Ware plant in Hespeler. He was a member of Hespeler United Church. Born in Erin Township on Feb. 8, 1870, he was the son of Henry Cutting and Phoebe Jane Pevoy, He married Margaret Jane Bowman in 1890. She predeceased him in 1945. Surviving are four sons, Wellington of Guelph; Gordon of Puslinch; Mervyn and Clarence of Hespeler; five daughters, Mrs. J. McGregor of Galt; Sylvia (Mrs. Wiliam Roscoe) and Lottie (Mrs. Bert Johnson), both of Hespeler; Olive Cutting of Puslinch; sisters, Mrs. Sarah Robinson of Passadena, CA; Mrs. John Daley of Eramosa Rd., Guelph; Mrs. Mary Halliday of Rockwood; and Mrs. Harvey Shingler of Cooper St., Hespeler; twenty-two grandchildren, fifty-three greatgrandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by Flossie (Mrs. Oswald Mundy)in 1923. Funeral services was held from the Stager Funeral Home on Sat., Dec. 19th at 2: 30. Rev. M. G. McFarlane conducted. Interment Hespeler Cemetery.

    CUTTING, MARGARET JANE (Nee Bowman)

    A resident of this district all her life, at her home on the Lake Road in Puslinch, on Wednesday evening, August 1, 1945, after an illness of about one year, in her 74th year. Wife of Edward Cutting. Born in Puslinch on Sept. 4, 1871, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bowman, she married Mr. Cutting in 1890 in Eramosa Township and they had resided in Puslinch for the last twenty-two years. Surviving are her husband; sons, Wellington of Guelph; Gordon, Mervin, Clarence and Walter, of Hespeler; daughters, Gladys (Mrs. J. McGregor) of Galt; Sylvia (Mrs. J. Roscoe) of Puslinch; Olive (Mrs. Ernest Garside); and Lottie (Mrs. Bert Johnson) of Hespeler; brothers William Bowman of Preston; and John Bowman of London; and five sisters, Mrs. H. Black of Guelph; Mrs. W. Black of Hespeler; Mrs. H. Leach of Oshawa; Mrs. U. Johnston of Brantford; and Mrs. R. Johnston of NY. Funeral from the residence of her son, Walter Cutting, 5 Bella St. in Hespeler on Sat., Aug. 4th at 3. Rev. George Kersey of Hespeler United Church officiated. Interment in Hespeler Cemetery.     Mrs. Henry Cutting, passed away on Baturday morning after an illness of several weeks duration. The late Mrs. Cutting was 80 years of age, and was one of Everton's pioneer settlers, being one of the first to settle in that section of the county. Besides her husband, four daughtera, Mr. Henry Harper, Guelpla Mrs. Rufus Robinson, Everton Mrs. John Daley, Guelph Mira. E. Holliday, Danville, and two sons, William and Edward, Hespeler, survive.

    At his home at 82 Lowell St. in Hespeler, on Tuesday evening at 9, August 10, 1915, in his 74th year. The funeral took place on Thurs, Aug. 12th at 2 from his residence to the Hespeler Cemetery. Surviving are his widow and children: Mrs. W. Black of Hespeler; Mrs. H. Fetter of Toronto; Mrs. Ed Cutting of Hespeler; Mrs. H. Cutting of Hamilton; Mrs. H. Leach of Guelph; Mrs. H. Black of Guelph; Mrs. G. MacDonald of Rochester; Mrs. J. Jones of Guelph; J. Bowman of Berlin; W. Bowman of Hespeler; A. Bowman of Galt; and E. Bowman of Hespeler. The pallbearers were his four sons, John, William, Albert and Irwin; Wellington Cutting and Frank McConnel. Mr. Bowman had been a resident of the city only since last spring, when he came here from his farm near Freelton.

They made their way to Waterloo Twp. by 1826, settling on lot 13, concession 1 in Beasley's Lower Block (Fisher Mills). In 1830 they settled on lot 33, front concession 8, Puslinch Twp.

    Funeral of Joseph Bowman.

    The funeral of the late Joseph Bowman, whose death occurred on Tuesday evening last, took place Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late residence to the Hespeler cemetery where interment was made. Besides a widow, the following sons and daughters are left to mourn his loss: Mrs. W. Black of Hespeler, Mrs. H. Fector of Toronto, Mrs. E. Cutting of Hespeler, Mrs. H. Cutting of Hamilton, Mrs. H. Leach of Guelph, Mrs. H. Block of Guelph, Mrs. G. Mcdonald of Rochester, Mrs. J. Jones of Guelph, Mr. J. Bowman of Berlin, Mr. W. Bowman of Hespeler, Mr. A. Bowman of Galt, and Mr. E. Bowman of Hespeler. The pall bearers were four sons, John William, Albert and Irwin and Mr. Wellington Cutting and Frank McConnel.

Wheeler of Toronto; Mrs. Hugh Johnston of Brantford; Mrs. Henry Leach of Oshawa; Mrs. Harry Black of Guelph; Mrs. Gordon McDonnell of Windsor; Mrs. Ed Cutting of Waterloo Township; and Mrs. W. Black of Hespeler; three sons, John Bowman of London; William and Albert Bowman of Hespeler; fifty-eight grandchildren, seventy great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon from the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. Black to the Hespeler Cemetery, with Rev. H. L. Merner conducting the service. Pallbearers: Gordon Black of Guelph; Leslie Cutting of Hespeler; Nelson Cutting of Brantford; Gordon and Wellington Cutting of Glen Christie; and Laverne Jones of Guelph.
