    Ada Lorraine (McKellar) Bauer \endash Passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the age 90. Beloved wife of the late Leonard H. Bauer; she will be lovingly remembered by her children, Janet Carey, John Bauer (Bonnie), Sandra Hammond (Jim) and son-in-law, Scott Crone, as a vibrant, active senior, before the onset of Alzheimer's. She will be missed by grandchildren, Lesley Cookson (Gord), Kendell Bauer-Taves (Jeff), Jillian Prudnikowicz (Steve), Patrick Carey, Beth Robertson (Doug), Leslie Ramsey (Wayne) and Spencer Crone; and by her twelve great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Marie McKellar; brother-in-law Robert Bauer (Ruth); and special friends, Donna and Dean Palmer. Ada was predeceased by her daughter, Ruth Crone; son-in-law, David Carey; granddaughter, Johnette Bauer; nephew, Robbie Bauer; brothers, Russell, Cecil and Howard; and by her sisters-in-law, Marilyn Bauer and Marguerite Brown (Lloyd). Ada and Len were charter members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Ada was the Office Manager of Frame Neckwear for many years, was active with the Rockway Seniors and served on the Mayor's Advisory Council for Kitchener Seniors. She and Len enjoyed travelling in retirement. A special thanks to the nurses and staff of Dickson House for the warm and devoted care provided to Ada. Ada's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener. A funeral service to celebrate Ada's life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. Reception immediately following at the funeral home. Interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Breslau. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

    PRESTON, John G. Bauer, of RR 1, Preston, died Monday, at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Galt, after a short illness. Born in Preston, he lived all his life in this area. A molder, he was employed several years at Clare Brothers Ltd. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Preston and the Preston Canadian Order of Foresters. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Rockel: two sons, Leonard of Kitchener and Robert of RR 1, Preston; one daughter. Mrs. Lloyd (Marguerite) Brown of Tucson, Ariz. and six grandchildren. The body will be at the Stager-Barthel Funeral Home, where the funeral will be concluded, Thursday, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Rev. I. S. Dauphinee of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, will officiate.

    Dear mother of Robert J. of Cambridge, Leonard H. of Kitchener and Marguerite (Mrs. Lloyd Brown) of Tuscon, Ariz. Also survived by two brothers, William and John of Kitchener; one sister, Hilda Rockel of Kitchener, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

    Mrs. Bauer was born in Kitchener and had resided in Cambridge for 69 years. Member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Cambridge and St. Peter's LCW.

    Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, until Wednesday noon, then to St. Peter's Lutheran Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in Park Lawn cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to St. Peter's Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
