    New Plant Opens in Kitchener; Will Employ 70 Hands

    About 70 Kitchener and Waterloo men will be given work in a new shoe plant which is to commence operations in Kitchener within two weeks. The new plant is to manufacture wooden heels for children's shoes, and is being opened by two United States men who have pre viously operated a similar plant across the border. The plant will be known as the Bradkin-Thornell Company and will occupy the entire second floor of the Cloutier Shoe Company factory building on Breit- haupt Street in Kitchener. About 70 men will be employed. Mr. Lester Thornell of Haverhill, Mass., is supervising the installation of machinery which is valued at above $15,000.
