    An interesting event took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hoare, 59 Weber street, east. Christmas Day when their daughter, Miss Addie J. Hoare, was married to Mr. John James Bailey, of this city. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. A. Schade, of the Benton Street Baptist Church in the presence of the immediate relatives of the contracting parties. The bride was attended by Miss Pearl Hoare, and the groom by Mr. Frank Wood. They left on a honeymoon trip to Toronto. and on their return will take up their residence in the city.

    Edwin Hoare, 87, of 9 ½ Quebec St., Guelph, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Guelph, after a lengthy illness. Born near Cobourg June 7, 1865, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hoare. Surviving are three sons, Norman of Kitchener, Charles of Galt and Wilbert of Owen Sound; two daughters, Mrs. J.J. (Addie) Bailey of Toronto and Mrs. George (Pearl) Thomas of Guelph; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife, the former Agatha (Searight), predeceased him. The body is resting at the Ratz Bechtel Funeral Home where the funeral will be held Tuesday at 2: 30 p.m. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
