D'AGOSTINO, Lucille Marion September 29, 1936 - January 4, 2016 It is with great sadness that the family of Lucille Marion D'Agostino announces her passing at The Village of University Gates in Waterloo, Ontario. Lucille was predeceased by her husband Paul (1996) and granddaughters, Sarah (1994) and Victoria (2002). Lucille is survived by her sons, Paul (Nancy) of Canmore, Alta., Edward (Martha) of Waterloo, Ont., David (Sanae) of Canmore, Alta. and Michael (Brenda) of Hamilton, Ont. Grandchildren, Lisa (Alan), Leslie, Matthew, Emily, Michael, Andrew, Katherine, Kimiko and Mikiko. Lucille is also survived by her sister Nancy McGhee and family. Lucille, the beautiful daughter of Felix and Winnifred Roberts, was born in Barton-on-Sea, England. She came to Canada during the war when she was five years old and lived in Toronto, Ontario. When Lucille graduated from High School at age 16, she had the highest academic standing of all female students in Toronto. She received her B.A. degree from the University of Western Ontario and later a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto. Lucille and Paul were married for 40 years, during which time they raised their four very active sons in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Lucille enjoyed many summers with Paul in Italy (where she became fluent in Italian) and winters in Cuba (where she became fluent in Spanish). Lucille found great satisfaction working as a supply teacher in the Sault for almost 30 years, until being physically compromised by Parkinson's Disease. Lucille was always a very generous and caring person who had stimulating conversations with her friends and family until the very end. A reception will be held at The Village of University Gates, 250 Laurelwood Drive in Waterloo on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. in the Wesley Graham Community Center, with a Memorial Service to celebrate Lucille's life to follow at 8:45 p.m. in the chapel. Cremation has already occurred, with interment in Sault Ste. Marie at a later date. In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family and donations to the Kitchener-Waterloo Community Foundation (Victoria's Fund) may be arranged by contacting the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
