    Edward Kinzel

    PRESTON - When the funeral of Edward Kinzel, 71, of 325 Lowther St., Preston, is conducted here Wednesday, members of the Preston fire department will form a guard of honor. Mr. Kinzel, a member of the fire department for 23 years, died from a heart attack Saturday at his home. Born in Buffalo, June 1, 1887, Mr. Kinzel had resided in Preston since 1900, retired from the fire department five years ago. As a young man Mr. Kinzel was active in sports. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Predeceased by his wife, the former Minnie Hauck in 1945, he is survived by three sons, Clifford of Kitchener, Harold of Preston, Edward of Detroit: five brothers, Emil and Albert both of Preston; William of Hespeler. Charles of Caistorville, Ont., and Joseph of Flint, Mich. The body will be at the Maurice J. O'Brien Funeral Residence until 2: 30 p.m. Wednesday when Rev. J. S. Dauphinee will conduct the service. Interment will be in Preston Cemetery.

    MRS. AMALIE KINZEL

    PRESTON, May 18 - The death of Mrs. Amalie Kinzel, widow of Joseph Kinzel, occurred at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, this morning at the age of 78 years. In ailing health for a number of years, she had been in hospital for seven weeks. Born in Germany, Mrs. Kinzel came to Canada and Preston more than 65 years ago as a young girl. The family moved to Estey, Mich. and returned to Blair in 1900 and to Preston in 1911. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Preston. She lived in Preston until 12 years ago when she moved to Strasburg, to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Holtzhauer. Her husband predeceased her nine years ago and she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Holtzhauer, Strasburg, six sons, Joseph, Flint, Mich., Edward, Emil and Albert of Preston, Charles of Caisterville, Ont. and William, of Hespeler, also by 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, from where the funeral will he held Saturday afternoon at 2.30. Interment will be made in the Preston Cemetery.
