Hilker, Richard
Passed away at the Freeport Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at the age of 43 years. Dear son of David Hilker and the late Sheila (nee Holst) Hilker and stepson of Azar Tebiani. Loved brother of David and his wife Janet and Pam Gutzeit. Loving uncle of Steven, Jena, Rachel and Jessica. Richard will be fondly remembered by aunts, uncles and family. Predeceased by his grandparents, the late Luella Holst and the late James and Annie Hilker.
Richard's family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011 and Friday from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral services will then be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 in the funeral home chapel. Cremation to follow.
Expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Holst, John - Of the Nithview Home, New Hamburg, passed away at his residence, July 22, 1975, aged 88 years. He was born August 1, 1886 in Waterloo Township and had resided in Baden since 1928; he was a member of Livingstone Presbyterian Church, Baden; also a former elder of the church. Predeceased by his wife, the former Matilda Jantzi in 1967; surviving are two sons, Walter of Cambridge and Donald of Hanover; predeceased by one son, Gordon; also surviving are seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The late Mr. Holst will rest at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home after 7 pm this evening. Funeral arrangements will be announced in tomorrow's edition of The Record.

Mrs. John Holst - Funeral service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. John Holst of Baden who died January 4, 1967 at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, after a lengthy illness. The body was at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home until removal was made to Livingston Presbyterian Church, Baden, for service. Rev. L.S. Van Mossel officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be accepted as expressions of sympathy. Born in Minnesota, June 19, 1891, she came to Canada in 1899 and lived in Wilmot Township, Biggar, Saskatchewan, and Baden. She was the former Matilda Jantzi. She was a member of Livingston Presbyterian Church and past president of the Ladies' Aid. Surviving, besides her husband whom she married in 1913, are two sons, Walter of Baden, and Donald of Owen Sound; one brother Daniel of Vulcan, Alberta; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son in 1955, five brothers and two sisters.

Theodor Huehn
C. Theodor Huehn of 41 Louisa St., Baden, died on Wednesday of last week at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital. He was 86
Born in Heidelberg Nov. 4, 1882, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Huehn and had been a resident of Baden since 1915.
He was a well known cement silo builder in the district and had retired 17 years ago. Mr, Huehn was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church, Baden, where he was an elder for about 20 years.
He also served on the Fairmount cemetery board for 20 years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ida Amelia Reiha whom he married Feb. 12, 1911; one daughter, Mrs Gordon (Luella) Holst of Kitchener; one brother, Edgar of Kitchener; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Dartt, Mrs. Hilda Foreser and Mrs. Amalina Murphy, all of Waterloo; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister and one brother.
Funeral service was held at St. James' Church in Baden on Friday, Rev. Ernest Felker officiating.
Burial was in Fairmount cemetery, Baden.
The Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
