    Rev. Nelson Edward Dahms

    Rev. Nelson Edward Dahms of 163 Elgin Crescent, Waterloo and father of Rev. T. Edward Dahms of New Hamburg, died Sunday at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital at the age of 77.

    A Brethren Church minister at several area churches, Mr. Dahms was a school teacher before being ordained. He served the church for 36 years prior to the EUB church union with the United Church.

    He served in Bridgeport, St. Jacobs, Roseville, Wilmot Centre, Sebringville, and Listowel as well as in Arnstein, Campden, Attercliffe Station and Arnprior.

    He retired after service in Listowel in 1958. Born in Carrick Township, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Dahms.

    He was predeceased bv his first wife, the former Hilda E. Voelzing in 1938. He later married the former Vera Schweitzer in Waterloo.

    Besides his wife and brother, he is survived by another son, Rev. John V. Dahms, Kitchener; a daughter, Mrs. M.M (Alice) Irwin, a missionary in Seoul, Korea, three brothers, Ira and Simon, both of Mildmay, and Arthur, Waterloo; as well as seven grandchildren.

    Funeral service will be held at Calvary United Church, Listowel, today at 2 p.m. Rev. Alan R. Harley, Listowel, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Dr. E.E. Hallman, Kitchener.

    Burial will be in the Hanover cemetery.
