John O'Donnell

John Joseph O'Donnell, 81, of Guelph, father of Mrs. Clarence (Evelyn) Kramer of New Hamburg, died last Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Guelph.

The rosary was recited on Monday with prayers said at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Guelph, on Tuesday, followed by a requiem mass at the Holy Rosary Church.

Born in Drayton, Oct. 2, 1887, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John O'Donnell. He farmed in the Drayton area until 1947 when he moved to New Hamburg. In 1960 he moved to Guelph where he had lived for the past nine years.

Surviving besides his wife, the former Gertrude Bolen, whom he married in Arthur, September 7, 1914, and Mrs. Kramer are four other daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Alice) Blagden of Ottawa, Mrs. Edmund (Margaret) Kenny and Mrs. William (Louise) Major, both of Guelph, and Mrs. Patrick (Gertrude) McNally of Montreal; one sister, Mrs. David (Katherine) MacKenzie of Detroit; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burial took place in Marymount cemetery.
