    SCHULTZ, Valerie Ann Passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Valerie resided in Kitchener and was formerly of New Hamburg. She was born 44 years ago in Kitchener.

    Sadly missed by her special friend of 17 years, Paul Lucas. Beloved daughter of Jean (Roth) Schultz of New Hamburg and the late Harold Schultz.

    Remembered by her brother Paul Schultz of Newfoundland, her nephew Joshua and niece Julianne. Also missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Valerie was predeceased by her grandparents Solomon and Alma Roth and Eric and Vera Schulz. Valerie fought a courageous fight against Cystic Fibrosis and never complained.

    Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ilene Bergen officiating.     Harold Schultz, 32, died Saturday at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

    He was born Feb. 10, 1937, in Kitchener, a son of Mr and Mrs. Eric Schultz.

    Mr. Schultz was a member of Faith Baptist Church, New Hamburg.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Jean Ross; one son, Paul Bradley and one daughter Valerie Ann, both of Kitchener; one brother Dennis of Kitchener and four sisters, Mrs. Merlin (Dorine) Kropf of Fergus; Mrs. John (Marylin) Schuller of Kitchener; Mrs. Paul (Arleen) Meyers of Kitchener and Mrs. Larry (Joan) Keiswetter of St. Clements.

    Services were held on Tuesday at Steinman s Mennonite Church, Wilmot Township. Burial took place in the church cemetery.

    Isaac Wagler

    BADEN, Aug. 14. - The death occurred at St. Agatha yesterday of Isaac Wagler, 75 The deceased was born in Wilmot Township, Jan. 18, 1872. His death followed a lingering illness. He was a son of the late Christian and Magdalene Wagler.

    Surviving are his widow, Catherine Litwiller; two sons, Elmer of New Hamburg, Ervin of St. Agatha: 3 eight daughters Mrs. Noah (Victoria) Boshart, Baden, Mrs. John (Ida) Dietz, Waterloo, Mrs. John (Katie) Leis. New Hamburg. Mrs. Elmer (Mattie) Schwartzentruber, Baden, Mrs. Eli (Sarah) Zehr, St. Agatha. Mrs. Erie (Vera) Schulz, Kitchener, Mrs. Ervin (Verna) Zehr, Milver- ton, Mrs. Jonas (Laura) Wagler, St. Agatha; two sisters, Mrs. Jonathan Jantzi, Kitchener, and Mrs. C. B. Jantzi, Pine Hill. Thirty-nine grand- children and two great grandchildren survive. Two sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren predeceased him.

    A service will be held at the home of his son-in-law, Eli Zehr. St. Agatha at 2:00p.m., Saturday. A public service will be held at the St. Agatha A.M. Church. Interment will be made in St. Agatha A.M Cemetery. Rev. Benjamin Gingerich will officiate.

    Samuel J. Bender Dies Suddenly

    Stricken with a sudden heart attack early last Friday morning, Mr. Samuel J. Bender died unexpectedly shortly afterwards at the age of 68 years. He had retired the evening before in apparent good health. Mr. Bender was a lifelong resident of this community and was well and favorably known in the district.

    He was a son of the late John M. Bender and Catharine Ruby and was born May 12, 1881, on th Bender homestead adjoining the western limits of New Hamburg. He was married on Jan. 3, 1904, to Fannie Baechler of South Easthope. He was a resident of New Hamburg for the past 35 years and for the past 20 years was local salesman for the Viking Cream Separator Co. The deceased was a member of Steinman A.M. Church.

    Surviving besides his wife, are two daughters, Matilda, at home, and Mrs. Solomon (Alma) Roth, New Hamburg; two brothers, Moses and Joseph of Wilmot Township, and one sister, Mrs. Christian (Katie) Bender, New Hamburg. A brother, John, and one sister, Anna, predeceased him. Also surviving are six grandchildren.

    The funeral was held on Monday afternoon from his late home, Huron St., to Steinman A.M. Church for service and interment in the Steinman Cemetery. Bishop Moses O. Jantzi officiated. The funeral was attended by a large circle of relatives and friends.

    Mrs. Samuel Bender

    Funeral services were held at Steinman's Mennonite Church last Thursday for Mrs Samuel Bender. 441 Huron St., New Hamburg. who died Sunday. Dec. 22 at the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital at the age of 79.

    Born in East Zorra Township, she resided in New Hamburg most of her life. She was a member of Steinman's Church.

    The former Veronica Baechler. she was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. Christian Baechler.

    She was predeceased by her husband 19 years ago

    She leaves two daughters. Mrs. Solomon (Alma) Both and Matilda, both of New Hamburg: one brother. Christian Baechler of Tavistock: three sisters. Mrs. Peter (Katie) Schultz of RR 1. Milverton. Mrs. Peter (Susan) Roth and Mrs. William (Mabel) Bender, both of New Hamburg, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
