    UNDERWOOD, Milo L. -- On Saturday, Dec. 29, 1979, at the K-W Hospital, after a brief illness, Milo Leslie Underwood, aged 86 years, of 9 College St., Kitchener. Dear father of Mrs. Marjorie Smith of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; loving grandfather of James. L. Smith of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Nancy L. Smith od St. Clair Shores, Mich. and Ruth Ann Snider of Kitchener; great-grandfather of David and William Leo Smith and Jason Snider. Predeceased by his wife the former Marie Kemp in 1973, his son Kenneth in 1967, two sisters Ina and Sylvia and five brothers, Obel, Ira, Harry, Oscar and Lloyd. He was born in Bridgeport, a son of the late John Underwood and the former Lavina Saltzbury. He was a cab driver in the city of Kitchener for 42 years and a member of Calvary United Church. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener. Funeral and committal service in the Ratz-Bechtel chapel, on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 1980, at 4 p.m. Rev. Bruce Seebach will conduct the service. Interment in Woodland cemetery.

    John Thomas Underwood

    The death occurred at St. Mary's Hospital at five o'clock last night of Mr. John Thomas Underwood, aged 69 years, three months, and 10 days. The deceased has been in failing health for the last two or three months. In religion the deceased was a member of Calvary Evangelical church. He was born in Wellesley Township on November 2nd, 1863. He was predeceased by his wife some seven years ago.

    The late Mr. Underwood is survived by six sons, Obal of Windsor, Ira of Kitchener, Oscar of Kitchener, Harry of Waterloo, Milo, Kitchener and Lloyd of Toronto, and by one daughter, Mrs. Edwin G. Sahli, city. Two brothers, Edward Underwood and William Underwood, both of Bridgeport, and one sister, Mrs. I. Thomas, Kitchener survive.

    The funeral will be held with a private service on Sunday afternoon at 2: 30 o'clock from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sahli, 65 Glasgow Street, to Calvary Evangelical Church where a public service will be held at three o'clock. Interment will be made in Woodland Cemetery. The remains will be at the Kitchener Furniture Company Funeral Home until Saturday noon after which removal will take place to the home of Mrs. Sahli, 65 Glasgow Street.

    Underwood, formerly Leovina Saltzberry, passed away at her home 65 Glasgow street Sunday morning. Deceased was born at New Dundee, Nov. 7, 1855 and was in her 69th year. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Ina (Mrs. Sahli) at home, and six sons, Obal of Sandwich, Ira, Oscar, Milo and Lloyd all of this city, and Harry of Waterloo. There are also 24 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. W. P. Ellis of this city and Mrs. George Miller of Haysville. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the residence to Calvary Memorial church. Burial will take place in Woodland cemetery (sic).

    Death of Mr. Jacob Saltzberry - One of the old pioneers has passed away in the person of Mr. Jacob Saltzberry. He had made his home for the last 3 years with his daughter, Esther (Mrs. Miller), Haysville. For the last ten weeks he had been ailing with dropsy and on Sunday, Aug. 20th, about 10 o'clock a.m. passed quietly away in his 87th year. He leaves to mourn his loss, 3 daughters, Lovina, Mrs. J. T. Underwood; Esther, Mrs. Geo. A. Miller, Haysville and Mary, Mrs. H. P. Ellis, Berlin. One son and two daughters died several years ago, Moses, Veronica, Mrs. A. Hilborn and Katherine, Mrs. Geo. Miller. His wife predeceased him about 9 years. the funeral will be held from Mrs. Miller's residence in Haysville to Blenheim cemetery. Service at the house at 1.30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22nd.
