    Died, At Hespeler, on Monday, January 5th, 1885, Walter Renwick, Sr., A Native of Tweedsmuir, Peeblesshire, Scotland, Aged 72 Years and 20 Days. Funeral On Wednesday, Jan. 7th, at 1 o'clock p.m., from his late residence, to the Hespeler Cemetery. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend. Hespeler, Jan. 5th, 1885.

    At Fingland, Tweeds Muir [sic], Peebleshire, Scotland, on the 18th April, Mr. William Renwick, at the advanced age of 84 years and 8 days, father of Walter Renwick, Esq., Hespeler.

    From at least 1859 until shortly before he died January 5th, 1885, aged 72 years, 20 days, Walter Renwick, native of Peebleshire, conducted a butcher business in Hespeler. His slaughter house was located about where Dr. Gammies' office is now and he delivered off a wagon about the Town. He served as Councillor here in 1866-67 and from 1876-83.
