Mrs. Allan Eix

Much sympathy is extended to Mr. Allan Eix in the death of his wife, which took place at their home in Woolwich Township, about three miles northeast of Elmira, on Saturday afternoon last. Mrs. Eix (nee Ivie Helen Main), who was the daughter of Mr. Thomas Main and the late Mrs. Main of Pilkington Township, was only in her twenty-sixth year.

Besides her husband and father, one brother, Clifford, and one sister, Dorothy, who resides in Pilkington, survive.

The funeral, which was very largely attended, took place from her late home in Woolwich Township on Tuesday afternoon to St. Paul's Lutheran church, Elmira, where Rev. F. Malinsky conducted the funeral service. Rev. Mr. Malinsky based his sermon on Psalm 139 and during the service the pupils of the parochial school sang a touching selection. The casket bearers were Messrs. Harold Auger, Herbert Witzel, Thos. Witzel, Robert Bosomworth, Currie Groff and Arthur Moldenhauer, all of Pilkington and former friends of the family. Interment was made in the Elmira cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas C. Main
After a stroke, which came suddenly the previous evening, Mrs. Thomas C. Main of Pilkington Township, passed away on Monday morning. Mrs. Main had been at Bethel United Church and after returning home a stroke came on suddenly from which she did not rally.
Mrs. Main, who was about fifty years of age, was formerly Emma Stange of Pilkington Township and early in 1908 was united in marriage to Mr. Thomas C. Main. She was a member of the Bethel United Church and among the most highly respected residents of the community and her passing will be greatly felt in the neighborhood where she had resided practically all her life.
Besides a sorrowing husband she leaves a family of two daughters and one son; Ive (Mrs. Allen Eix) of Woolwich Township and Dorothy and Clifford at home. There are also two sisters and one brother surviving; Mrs. W. J. Main of Kitchener, Mrs. Addison Miller and John Stange of Pilkington Township.
The funeral took place this (Thursday) afternoon from her late home, the remains being interred in the Elmira cemetery.

Henry Stange Succumbs To Lingering illness; Funeral Will Be Held on Saturday

Henry Stange, a Well-known and highly respected resident of Elmira passed away at his home here on Wednesday, following a lingering illness. The late Mr. Stange was in his 75th year. He has been in poor health for some time and for the past 11 months has been confined to his bed.

Born in Woolwich Township in 1854, his early years were spent on the farm now occupied by Walter Ritter. Following his marriage to Catharine Kalbfleisch on October 21 1873, they settled on the adjoining farm where they spent two years, then removing to the Jacob Stahlbaum farm north of Elmira and later to Pilkington. About 12 years ago they came to Elmira, and Mr. Stange built the residence on Arthur street north where he has since lived.

He is survived by his widow and four children: John, of Pilkington; Minnie (Mrs. W. J. Main) of Kitchener; Emma (Mrs. Thomas Main) and Ivy (Mrs. Addison Miller,) of Pilkington. Three daughters predeceased him. Six granchildren also survive. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m, from his late residence to the Evangelical church with interment in Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Henry Stange

At her home on Arthur street north, Elmira, on Thursday evening last Mrs. Henry Stange passed away after two weeks illness from heart trouble.

The late Mrs. Stange, whose maiden name was Catherine Kalbfleisch, was born in the Township of Woolwich, being a daughter of the late Reinhardt and Mrs. Kalbfleisch of that Township. The deceased lady was in her 76^th year and 56 years ago was married to Henry Stange, who died about two years ago. Mrs. Stange was a highly esteemed resident of this community and she leaves to mourn her loss, one son, John Stange of Pilkington Township, and three daughters, namely, Minnie (Mrs. W. J. Main) of Kitchener, Emma (Mrs. Thomas C. Main) of Pilkington, Ivy (Mrs. Addison Miller) of Pilkington. A brother, Mr. John Kalbfleisch of Northville, Mich., also survives. The funeral, which took place from her late home on Sunday afternoon to Zion Evangelical Church was very largely attended. The pastor, Rev. E. D. Becker had charge of the services and was assisted by Rev. Mr. McGowan of Alma. Interment took place in the Elmira cemetery. Among those present at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Kalbfleisch of Northville, Mich., Mrs. J. Schmidt and daughter of Elmwood, Mrs. R. Diebel of Hanover and Mr. and Mrs. A. Reist of Moorefield. Others were also present from Kitchener, Waterloo, Floradale, Hesson and other surrounding places.
