Catherine Isabelle Stauffer passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the age of 91.
Isabelle was a stylish, classy, and independent woman, but we will remember her most for her caring spirit and abundant generosity. She volunteered her time delivering food with Meals on Wheels, and belonged to Cambridge PROBUS and the Silver Star Society. Isabelle loved to play golf even in her senior years, and was a member of the Galt Country Club. She was also a longtime member of Wesley United Church. Isabelle will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Joe Stauffer, Scott Stauffer (Karen), and Cam Stauffer (Cathie), daughters Margo Riches (Steve), Cathy Welsand (Arnie), and Martha Muir, 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, her brother Jack, and her daughter-in-law Rae Stauffer (son Peter - deceased). She was also predeceased by her husband Richard, parents Anne and Dean Scott, sisters Marg and Janet, and her grandson Graeme. The family wishes to thank the people at Granite Landing for their wonderful care of Isabelle. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Meals on Wheels would be appreciated by the family.

GALT, The funeral for E. Dean Scott, 65 Harris St., Galt, who died at his summer home, in Southampton, Sunday, at the age of 73, will be held at Little's Funeral Home, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. Rev. R. A. Jackson will officiate. Interment will be in Mount View cemetery. Mr. Scott was born in Moorefield and was a resident of Galt, for 60 years. He was employed by Canadian Westinghouse Ltd., 38 years before joining Rooke Photo Finishing Ltd., two years ago. He retired in June this year. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. He served in the First World War with the 129th and 123rd Battalions. Surviving are his wife, the former Ann Hood; one son, John of Galt; three daughters, Mrs. R. C. (Isabelle) Stauffer of Galt, Mrs. William (Janet) Gibbs of Brantford, Mrs. Neil (Margaret) Armstrong of Sarnia; one brother, William G. Sims of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and two sisters, Nelle Scott of Kitchener and Mrs. Eda Cadman of Montreal.

HOOD, KATIE (Nee McPherson)

At South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, on Friday, January 9, 1970, of 65 Harris St. in Galt, in her 96^th year. Widow of John T. Hood (Aug. 1944). Mother of Ann (Mrs. Dean Scott) of Galt; and James I. Hood of Toronto. Also survived by four grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Born in Crieff, she was a daughter of the late James McPherson and Ann McDonald. She had lived in this area all her life. She came to Galt twenty-five years ago to live with her daughter, after living in Sheffield for forty-five years. Mrs. Hood was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a member of the Women's Missionary Society and the Ladies Aid Society of the church. She was also a charter member of the Sheffield Women's Institute. Service at Little's Funeral Home, 29 Grand Ave. N. in Galt on Mon., Jan. 12^th at 2. Rev. R. A. Jackson of Knox Presbyterian Church officiated. The honorary pallbearers were: a grandson, Jack Scott; five great-grandsons, Bill Gibbs; Joe, Scott, Cam and Peter Stauffer. Interment Mount View Cemetery.
