    Eldred Reier, 49, of 991 Glen Rd. Kitchener, died Monday of a heart attack. He was born in Petersburg, June 13, 1913, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Renzie Reier.

    He was employed by Woods Transport Ltd. and was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. He had lived in Kitchener for 37 years.

    He is survived by his wife, the former Laura Frickey, whom he married in Kitchener Dec. 20, 1941. Also surviving are his grandmother, Mrs. Barbara Shantz of Elmira and four daughters, Marlene, Sheila, Sharon and Gayle, all at home; there sisters, Mrs. George H. (Erma) Gastmeier of Bridgeport, Mrs. Leonard (Alice) St. Pierre of Kitchener, and Mrs. George (Doris) Richardson of Burlington.

    On Thursdy, July 27, 1978 at the K-W Hospital, the former Laura Frickey, aged 62 years, of Glen Rd., Kitchener.
    Survived by two sons, Walter and Bruce, both of Kitchener; four daughters, Marlene (Mrs. Jack Folkard) of Waterloo, Shiela (Mrs. Gary Marciniak) of Waterloo, Sharon of Kitchener and Gayle (Mrs. Paul Koebel) of Kitchener; eight grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Eldred, in 1962, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Frickey.

    Friends may call at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, after 2 p.m. on Saturday. Funeral and committal service in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. Dr. H.W. Opperman will conduct the service. Interment will be made in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
    Expressions of sympathy may be made by donations to the Respiratory Research Foundation.

    Reier - Sister Agnes, wife of Bro. Reinzie Reier, after five months of illness, passed to be with the Lord on the evening of Dec. 13, 1934. She was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Sept. 19, 1887, and had reached her 48th year. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Kitchener, Ont. She is survived by her husband, 1 son (Eldrid of near Kitchener), 3 daughters (Erma, Alice, and Doris, all at home), her mother (Mrs. Barbara Shantz of Waterloo), 3 brothers (Clayton Shantz, Troy, N. Y.; Lorne Shantz, Waterloo, and Clarence Shantz of Detroit, Mich.), and 1 sister (Mrs. John Lichty of Waterloo). She was a consistent Christian, dying in the gracious assurance of the Gospel. She was an interested mother in the welfare of her home. Her interest in the Church was constant. For many years she was caretaker of the Church building. This brought her into contact with the many activities of the church. Thus she was well known. She will be missed in the home and circles beyond, especially for her cheery disposition, in spite of clouds, keeping that steadfast gaze and trust in God. May the Lord sustain, and guide the family in spite of their great loss. The services were in charge of the pastor, Bro. C. F. Derstine. Theme, "The Inescapable Appointment" (Eccl. 8: 8). Bro. Manasseh Hallman, a former pastor, assisted in the service. All services and burial at the First Mennonite Church.

    The funeral of Walter W. Frickey, Alderman of Waterloo Council, former Mayor, and well known auctioneer, who died suddenly at his home at noon yesterday, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Letter and Dresinger Funeral Home, Waterloo, to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kitchener, for service at 2:30. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery. Rev. A.W. Lotz, pastor of St. Peter's Church, will conduct the services.

    Mr. Frickey, who was 48 years of age, is survived by his wife, two sons, Walter Jr. at home and William of Erie, Pa., two daughters, Mrs. Laura Kufskie and Mrs. Ronald Clemmer, Kitchener, three brothers, Richard Frickey of Kitchener, Alvin Frickey of Rochester, N.Y., and Gordon Frickey of Erbsville, one half-brother, Charles Trow of Buffalo and one sister, Mrs. Henry Nixdorf, Kitchener.

    .-Nelson Shantz was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., on June 11, 1865; died June 8, 1930; aged 64 y. 11 m. 28 d. In 1886 he was married to Barbara Snyder. To this union were born 5 children. He is survived by his bereaved wife and family, and 3 sisters. Two brothers predeceased him. He was a kind and loving husband and father, many times sacrificing his own pleasures to make others happy. During his recent illness of 4 weeks he suffered very much and often expressed his desire to go to his heavenly home. In early life he became a member of the Mennonite Church and died in that faith. Funeral services were held at the Waterloo Church, Wed. June 11, by Bros. Manasseh Hallman and J. B. Martin. Interment in David Eby Cemetery

    Shantz, Barbara, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Snyder, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Oct. 15, 1866; died at the Elmira (Ont.) Private Hospital, Aug. 1, 1966; aged 99 y. 9 m. 17 d. She was married to Nelson Shantz, who preceded her in death. One daughter, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters also preceded her. Surviving are 3 sons (Clayton, Lorne, and Clarence), one daughter (Mrs. Nellie Lichty), one brother (Herman), 2 sisters (Mrs. Veronica Snyder and Annie Snyder), 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Erb Street Church, where funeral services were conducted by J. B. Martin and Milton Schwartzentruber.

    The death occurred very unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 16th of one of our oldest and highly respected residents in the person of Mr. Henry Frickey, aged 72 years, 3 months and 10 days. Deceased was around, about the usual time on Tuesday morning and seeded in good health. After preparing his own breakfast, owing to his wife's illness he went back to bed and when his wife returned to his room after preparing dinner shortly after eleven o'clock she found that her husband had passed away suddenly.

    The funeral was held on Friday morning and a very large number of friends gathered to show their last tribute of respect to the memory of the deceased. The pall-bearers were his sons: - Herman, Alvin of Rochester, N.Y., Charles of Buffalo, N.Y., Richard of Berlin, Gordon and Walter at home.

    The late Mr. Frickey was born in Braumschyeig, Germany in 1836 and when ten years of age accompanied his parents to Canada and settled in Erbsville. He had the distinction of cutting down the first tree where his home stands. In 1860 he married Miss Margaret Schnarr, daughter of the late Balzer Schnarr of Erbsville who predeceased him in 1883. He married again in 1885 to Wilhelmina Gorselity, daughter of the late John Gorselity of Cranbrook, Ont. a wife, five sons and one step-son and two sons and one daughter from the first marriage are left to mourn, their loss. One brother, two sisters, and ten grand children also survive.

    After an illness of four weeks, Mrs. Wilhelmina Frickey Doerbecker passed away at the home of her son, ex-mayor Walter W. Frickey, 208 Albert St. North, Waterloo, on Wednesday. She was in her 80th year.

    Born in Germany, the deceased came to Canada with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Corsalitz of Brussels. For the past 55 years she had resided in the Heidelberg and Erbsville districts. She was an adherent of Erbsville Lutheran Church.

    She is survived by four sons, one step-son, two step-daughters, four brothers and two sisters, namely, Fred of Saskatchewan, William, Henry and John, of Brussels, Mrs. Collins and Ida of Buffalo. The sons are Charles, of Buffalo, Alvin, of Rochester, Gordon of Erbsville, Walter, of Waterloo, and Richard of Kitchener; the step-daughters are Mrs. Theresa Nixdorf, of Baden, and Mrs. Ed. Lantz, of Milverton. Thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

    The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Letter and Dreisinger Funeral Home, and thence to Erbsville Lutheran Church for service at 2.45. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery, Rev. Lamach, a former pastor, officiating.
