On Friday morning, Dr. William O'Dell Robinson, passed peacefully away at the home of his son, Doctor T. M. Robinson, St. Jacobs. The late Doctor who was in his eighty-sixth year, was one of the few old pioneers of St. Jacobs, that were left, being the third to pass to their reward, during the past couple of months. The deceased was well and favorably known throughout the whole of Waterloo County. Born in Leeds County, he moved to Oxford County, when a young man. After remaining there a short time, he came to St. Jacobs in 1867, where he resided up to the time of his death. A number of years ago he gave up his general practice to his son. Still there were a great number of people who came or would write from different parts of Ontario and Northwest, for his great cure for Rheumatism; so that in his declining years, he was a great comfort to his fellowmen who along with his many other friends, will be grieved to learn of his death. One son Dr. T. Manley Robinson, is the only surviving member of the family, left to mourn the loss of a kind father. The deceased belonged to the Masonic order. The funeral will take place from the residence of his son, on Monday afternoon. Service will. be held at the house at 2: 30 p.m. and thence to the Evangelical Cemetery for interment.

ROBINSON, WILLIAM O'DELL was born in "Plum Hollow" Leeds County, in about 1826.

His card in the Waterloo Chronicle in 1868 describes him as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and a graduate of the Eclectic College of Pennsylvania. He received his licence to practice in l867, at which time he would have been forty one years of age. Presumably he received his M. R. C. S. Edinburgh when he was younger. A further mention made in a card which appeared in 1869 said that he was formerly in attendance at the Blockley hospital which contains 3,000 beds.

He practised initially at Drumbo according to the information at hand, and in 1867 moved to St. Jacobs where he practised for about 45 years. In 1872 he received an appointment as coroner for Waterloo County.

He must have practised as an Eclectic as he had a cure for rheumatism which was in considerable demand by patients even after he had been retired for some time.

The Waterloo County Chronicle of April 5,1894 had a notice:

Dr. W. O. D. Robinson, formally [sic] of St. Jacobs (opened) an office at Studdick's Hotel Floradale where he will be prepared to attend to calls promptly. So far he has been kept busy since coming to Floradale.

Whether this was in conjunction with, or separate from, his practice in St. Jacobs is unclear. At any rate his practice was gradually taken over by his son, and his opening an office in Floradale may have been an assertion of independence.

In his later years his health was impaired, and he eventually had to enter the Berlin & Waterloo Hospital where he died on October 31, 1913 was then in his 86th. year, one account said his 87th year. His wife had predeceased him and he was survived by his son, Dr. T. M. Robinson.

Funeral of Mrs. Robinson. - The funeral of Mrs. W. O. Robinson held last Friday afternoon was very largely attended. She had been ailing some months with cancer when an operation was considered necessary but she was too far gone to go through an operation and the cancer was allowed to take its course which resulted in her death last Tuesday evening. She bore her pain with great patience. She was 68 years of age and leaves a sorrowing husband and son (Dr. T. M. Robinson) to mourn her loss. We extend our sympathy.
