    Passed away peacefully, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Monday, August 22, 2005, at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Sally. Cherished father of David (Jo-Ann) and John (Blanche). Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jason, Leanna, Thaddeus, Rebecca, Matthew and Joshua. Survived by his brothers, Glenn and Clare and sisters, Eileen and Elaine.

    Predeceased by his daughter, Deborah; brother, Vernon and sisters, Mabel and Aimee. Friends are invited to share their memories of Roy with his family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, Wednesday, August 24 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service to celebrate Roy's life and faith will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, August 25 at 11 a.m.

    JANZI, Mrs. Ida - On Wednesday, February 24, 1982, at Nithview Home, New Hamburg, Mrs. Ida (Gascho) Jantzi, aged 89 years, of Nithview Home and formerly Baden.
    She was the last surviving member of her family. Was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, R.R. 2, Baden, where she was a member of the WMSC.

    Beloved wife of the late john O. Jantzi, who predeceased her August 14, 1964; mother of Vernon of Toronto, Glenn and Roy, both of Kitchener, Clare of London, Ontario, Mabel (Mrs. Gordon Erb) of Zurich, Ontario, Eileen (Mrs. Edgar Kennel) of Kitchener, Aimee (Mrs. Lloyd Barth) of Blyth and Elaine (Mrs. Laverne Lebold) of New Hamburg. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

    She was predeceased by her parents, the late Rev. John Gascho and the former Anna Baechler, three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and 21 brothers and sisters.
    Funeral services were held at Steinmann Mennonite Church at 2:30 p.m. February 27 with Rev. Vernon Zehr officiating. Spring interment in the church cemetery.

    Jantzi. - Magdalena, daughter of John and Barbara Oesch, was born in Huron Co., Ont., Nov. 30, 1855; died at the home of her youngest daughter (Mrs. Allen Bender) Nov. 4, 1942; aged 86 y. 11 m. 5 d. She was united in marriage to Daniel Jantzi Jan. 23, 1877, by Bishop John Gascho of Wilmot. This union was blessed with 10 children. Surviving are 5 sons and 3 daughters (Solomon of Lowville, N. Y.; Christian of Wilmot; Bishop Mose of Baden; John of Erbsville; Daniel of Vulcan, Alta.; Mrs. Joseph Nafziger of Mannville, Alta; Mrs. John Holst and Mrs. Allen Bender of Baden). One son (Michael) and one daughter (Barbara) predeceased her. She leaves 5 sisters and 2 brothers (Mrs. Rachel Gingerich of Baden; Mrs. Barbara Brenneman of Wellesley; Mrs. Katie Brenneman of Milverton; Mrs. Peter Brenneman of New Hamburg; Mrs. John Roth of Imlay City, Mich.; Joseph Oesch of Beggar, Sask.; and John Oesch of Milverton), 51 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. One sister predeceased in May. She united with the Amish Mennonite Church in her teens and remained a faithful member until death. She had been in good health until about 7 months ago. She became so tired and gradually grew weaker. She was conscious to the last. Her thoughts were always heavenward and she was so very appreciative of everything that was done for her. She attended church regularly as long as she was able. She was loving and kind and filled a worth-while place in the home.

    Magdelina was born in Lindenbrumerhof in 1799, the daughter of Jacob Ingold (1755-1798) and Elizabeth Bauman b 1760

    Gascho.--John Gascho was born Oct. 27, 1838; died May 28, 1919; aged 80 y. 7 m. 1 d. On July 25, 1858, he was married to Fannie Steckley who preceded him on Feb. 17, 1882. This union was blessed with 12 children of whom one died in infancy, the rest still living. On June 20, 1882, he was again married to Annie Schwartzendruber. This union was also blessed with 7 children of whom one is dead. He leaves wife, 18 children, 34 grandchildren, and 82 great-grandchildren. He was buried on May 31. Services in church at Zurich, Ont., conducted by Bro. Jonas Snider assisted by the writer. The departed brother served in the ministry for 43 years. Chr. Schrag.

    WELLESLEY, June 24 - A former resident of Wellesley, Peter Seyler, 85, died suddenly yesterday at the home of his son-in-law, Milton Heintz, on the Bamberg Road. Mr. Seyler was born on March 2, 1854, in Wilmot Township. He was a retired farmer and attended St. Paul's Canada Lutheran church, Wellesley. His wife predeceased him last January.

    Surviving are two sons, Henry of Tavistock and Daniel of Bamberg, two daughters, Mrs. Milton Heintz and Miss Anna Seyler, both of near Bamberg, one brother, David Seyler of Baden and two sisters, Mrs. Conrad Quehl and Mrs. John Heipel of Wellesley.

    Private funeral service will be held at the home of Mr. Heintz on Tuesday at 2 pm followed by public services at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellesley, at 2: 30 pm. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery with Rev. W. Nolting officiating. Remains will rest at the M. R. Futher Funeral Home until Sunday at 2 pm when they will be removed to the home of his son-in-law, Mr. Heintz.
