Mrs. Henry G. Schmidt
The death of Mrs. Henry G. Schmidt occurred at the home of her son, Edwin, in Kitchener, at the age of 77 years. The late Mrs. Schmidt had resided in North Easthope until six months ago when she went to Kitchener to make her home with her son. She had been in failing health for nearly three years. Deceased was born at Amulree and was a daughter of the late John Becker and Elizabeth Krug. She was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church, North Easthope. and an honorary member of the Ladies' Aid of that church. Her husband predeceased her in 1936. Surviving are three sons, Edwin, Kitchener, and Austin and Henry, North Easthope; one sister, Mrs. Mary Schmidt, Kitchener, and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Viola, died in 1934. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon from the home of her son, Austin Schmidt of North Easthope, to St. James' Lutheran Church for service and interment in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. H. Binhammer, pastor, was in charge of the services.

Mrs. Elizabeth Becker, relict of the late John Becker, passed peacefully away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Conrad Schmidt, Wilmot, last Tuesday at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 26 days. The deceased's Maiden name was Elizabeth Krug and she went to Kitchener in 1846, where she was married to her late husband, who pre-deceased her 30 years ago. For about forty-five years she was a resident of North Easthope and was highly esteemed by the community. The late Mrs. Becker was a devout adherent of the Lutheran faith and a kind and loving Mother, Two daughters, Mrs. John Cook, North Easthope, and Mrs. Wm, Rothaermel, of Waterloo, predeceased her, and five sons and four daughters survive her. They are: William I,, of Stratford; John C , of Detroit; Harry B., and Daniel F., in Alberta; Jacob K,, of Kitchener; Mrs. D. McFarlane, Shakespeare; Mrs, H. C, Kalbfleisch, New Hamburg; Mrs. Henry G. Schmidt, North Easthope, and Mrs. Conrad Schmidt, of Wilmot, Besides - these she leaves 44 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, and one Gt, Gt. Grandchild, having lived to see her fifth generation. Her remains were taken to her former home in North Easthope, from where the funeral took place, to the St. Jacob's Lutheran Church and Cemetery in North Easthope.

Balthazar left Eulersdorf, Germany in 1835 and came to Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada along with several of his siblings with their spouses (the HANSULDS and the HELLERS). Several years later (in 1848) they were joined by Balthasar's younger brother, Henry, who also settled in Waterloo County.

Balthasar was married to Elisabeth Pfannmueller in 1837 in Waterloo County, Ontario, Canada. They may have come to Canada together. It is also subject to question that Elisabeth had a daughter (Elisabeth) in Germany before coming to Canada.
