Mr. Durst was a supervisor at Canadian Blower and Forge Limited, where he was employed for over 50 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of St Matthew's Lutheran Church; Masonic Lodge, AF and AM and the Odd Fellows. Father of [...]. Predeceased by his parents, Frederick Sr. and the former Emma Salle; his wife, Melinda(Gaiser) in 1976 and three brothers, Lincoln, Oscar and Max. Friends may call at the Ratz-BechtelFuneral Home, 621 King St W., Kitchener, on Thursday, from 2 - 4 and 7- 9 p.m. At noon Friday,transfer will be made to the Chapel of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., with Pastor Harold Brill officiating.     FREDERICK DURST

    A retired cabinet maker, formerly employed by the Krug Furniture, Frederick Durst passed away today at the home of his son, Fred, 39 Scott street, in his 81st year. Mr. Dunst, a charter member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, was borti in Woolwich township, a son of Philip Durst and Barbara Hollinger.

    Surviving are four sons. Max at Port Huron, Mich, Lincoln, Kitchenter. Oscar of Detroit, Fred, city. three brothers. Louis at Elmira, Emil of Kitcherier. William in Cleveland, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Vollmer, Heidelberg, and Mrs. Charles Schell, Port Elgin. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Mrs, Durst predeceased him in 1925. One brother, Philip. also predeceased him.

    The funeral will be held publicly Sunday afternoon from his late home at 2.30 o'clock followed by in- terment in Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. J. Schmieder will have charge of the service.

    LIVED SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS IN THIS DISTRICT


    Another of the old pioneers of this district passed away in the person of Mrs. Barbara Ziegler, widow of the late Henry Ziegler, who died at the home of her son, Mr. Fred Durst, in Kitchener on Saturday. The deceased was born in Germany and came to this country when about fifteen years old. In 1852 she was married to Philip Durst and they resided on a farm near the Three Bridges now owned by their son, Mr. Louis Durst. Her husband died and in 1875 she was married a second time, namely to the late Henry Ziegler. They lived in Elmira until Mr. Ziegler died in 1903. She continued to live here for some and then went to live with her son in Kitchener. Surviving her there are six children of the first marriage. They are William of Cleveland, Louis of Woolwich, Emil and Fred of Kitchener, Mrs. Henry Vollmer of Heidelberg and Mrs. Charles Schell (formerly Mrs. Wm. Christman) of near Port Elgin. One son, Philip, died eighteen years ago. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from her son's home in Kitchener to St. James church, Elmira where the funeral service was held. Interment took place in St. James Cemetery after the service. Deceased was in her 91st year. Her maiden name was Hollinger. The late George Hollinger of Elmira was her brother. She bad been suffering from internal cancer for some time.
