Jean was a patient and loving mother who passed down her talent and love of family. She loved to do gardening, sewing, cooking, decorating, travel, spend time at the cottage and play cards with her family or friends.     ROTH, Josiah Z.-On Sunday, Aug. 22, 1982, at his residence, Josiah Z. Roth, age 76 years, of 9 Brubacher St., Baden.

    He was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg. He was a former mailman at RR 2, Baden and a former fireman with the Baden Volunteer Fire Department.

    Beloved husband of the former Katie Albrecht; dear father of Bertha (Mrs. Allen McCurdy) of RR 7, Woodstock and Jean (Mrs. Herb Hammer) of Baden. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Reuben of Tavistock, Noah of Bancroft and two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Zehr of New Hamburg and Emma (Mrs. Norman Lowes) of Woodstock.

    He was predeceased by his parents, the late Noah M. Roth and the former Mary Zehr and two sisters, Lavina Zehr and Anna Mae Baechler.
    Resting at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg Chapel, 291 Huron St., after 2 p.m. this afternoon and until noon Wednesday, when removal will be made to Hillcrest Mennonite Church for service at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Gerald Good officiating. Burial to follow in the 16th Line East Zorra Mennonite cemetery.

    As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or the Mennonite Central Committee.

    The death of Mr. Noah M. Roth of Baden occurred on Wednesday morning last at his late residence following a lengthy illness. Before retiring to Baden some years ago the late Mr. Roth farmed Lt R.R. 1, Tavistock. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Josiah, R.R. 1, New Hamburg; Reuben, R.R. 1, Tavistock and Noah Z. of Baden; three daughters, Lavina, Mrs. David Zehr, R.R. 7, Wood-stock, Tillie, Mrs. Amos Brenneman, R.R. 1, Shakespeare; and Emma, Mrs. Joseph Stere, R.R. 1, Bright; and twenty-one grandchildren. One daughter and two grand-children predeceased him. There also survives one sister, Mrs. Peter Steinman of Baden and two brothers, Mr. Sam. M. Roth of Baden and Mr. Daniel M. of Preston.

    Roth, Mary, daughter of Daniel and Annie Zehr, was born Oct. 1, 1880, in Wilmot Township, Ont.; passed to her eternal reward, after a brief illness July 3, 1954; aged 73 y. 10 m. 3 d. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and at the time of her death was a member of the East Zorra A. M. Church. On Dec. 18, 1909, she was united in marriage to Noah M. Roth, who predeceased her in 1948. To this union were born 4 daughters and 3 sons (Matilda-Mrs. Amos Brenneman, Tavistock, Ont.; Emma-Mrs. Joe Stere, Brighton, Ont.; Josiah and Noah, Baden, Ont.; and Reuben, of Tavistock), also 19 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers (Abraham, Noah, and David), and one sister (Mrs. Daniel Christner). He accepted Christ as his Saviour and was received into church fellowship upon confession of faith by Bishop J. M. Bender, Oct. 7, 1908, in the East Zorra A. M. congregation, in which faith he died. On Oct. 8, 1908, he was united in matrimony to Lydia Erb of Oxford Co., Ont. This union was blest with 2 sons and 3 daughters (Harvey of Tavistock; Elmer of Perth Co., Adeline, Mrs. Joel Stiri, of Perth; Katie, Mrs. Josiah Roth, of Oxford; Lucinda, Mrs. Irvin Stiri, of Oxford).     Baden, Dec. 7 - David B. Roth, 83, well-known resident of Baden, died today as a result of injuries sustained when he was knocked from a load of hay by a swinging barn door one month ago. The deceased was engaged in unloading a wagon load of hay, assisted by his wife, when a sudden gust of wind caught the door and knocked him to the ground.

    The last Mr. Roth, a life-long resident of this district, was born near Baden in 1853. He was a son of the late Mr. John and Katie Roth. A member of Steinman's Amish Mennonite church, Mr. Roth won distinction during his younger life when he used oxen to cultivate his farm instead of horses. Mr. Roth is also the owner of a valuable collection of Indian relics as well as several oxen yokes he made himself.

    Surviving are his widow, three sons, Samuel, owner of Roth's Garage n Baden, Noah of Tavistock, and Daniel of Baden, two daughters, Mrs. S. Ruby of Kitchener, and Mrs. P. Steinman of Baden, one sister, Mrs. Jacob Gardner of Baden. One son and one daughter predeceased him.

    Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock from the residence to
    Steinman Amish Mennonite church with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    BADEN. Oct 19 - Ninety-year-old David B. Roth of this village died yesterday at 10: 30 a.m. at her home after an illness of 18 days.

    Born in 1854 in Baden, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Miller, she attended the Steinman Amish Mennonite Church. Her husband predeceased her six years ago.

    Surviving are three sons, Noah Miller Roth of Baden, Dan Miller Roth of Preston and Sam Miller Roth of Baden; two daughters, Mrs. Sam (Mary) Ruby of Kitchener and Mrs. Peter (Lydia) Steinman of Baden; a brother, Christian R. Miller of Petersburg, Florida, 38 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. One son, Moses Miller Roth and a daughter, Mrs. Jacob (Katie) Jutzi, predeceased Mrs. Roth.

    The funeral will be held publicly on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 1: 30 p.m. from the residence. Church services held at the Steinman Amish Mennonite Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Bishop Moses Jantzi will officiate.

    ERB- Joel, son of Jacob and Catherine (Steinman) Erb, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., April 20, 1861; died at home of his son-in-law, Joseph Albrecht, East Zorra, Ont., on Sept. 13, 1935; aged 74 y. 4 m. 24 d. In his younger years he came with his parents to East Zorra, where he resided the remainder of his life. In his youth he accepted Christ as his Savior, was baptized by Bishop Joseph Ruby of Tavistock, and remained a member of East Zorra A. M. congregation since. One Dec. 18, 1883 he was joined in holy wedlock to Sister Catherine Gingerich of Wilmot congregation by Bishop John Gascho. This union was blessed with 1 son and 5 daughters: Jacob on the homestead; Lydia (wife of Joseph Albrecht); Katie (wife of Aaron Brenneman); Fannie (wife of Christian Bender); Emma, deceased (wife of A. Zehr); Clara (wife of Nick Zehr). He leaves his beloved companion, 1 son, 4 daughters, 19 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. A daughter, 2 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild predeceased him. Also surviving are 3 brothers (Pre. Daniel Erb of Albany, Oreg.; Moses of Oregon; and Jacob of O'Neill, Nebr.) And 1 sister (Barbara). Funeral services were held at the home by J. R. Bender, and at the East Zorra A. M. meetinghouse by Brethren D. Leobold, D. S. Jutzi, and M. Kipfer.

    Mrs. Joel Erb Passes In East Zorra

    Mrs. Joel Erb, formerly Catherine Gingerich, died Sunday at the home of her son in law, Nicholas Zehr, East Zorra. She was in her 81st year and had been ill for over a year. A native of Wilmot Township, she was born July 25, 1861, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Gingerich. She married Joel Erb December 18, 1883, residing in E ast Zorra since that time. Her husband died in Sept., 1935. She was a member of the East Zorra Amish Mennonite church, 16th. line.

    Surviving her are one son. Jacob, of East Zorra, four daughters, Mrs. Jos. Albrecht, Tavistock, Mrs. Aaron Brenneman, South Easthope, Mrs. Chr. Bender and Mrs. Nicholas Zehr, East Zorra; one sister, Mrs. Chr. Steinman of Tavistock, twenty grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

    The funeral was held from the home of her son-in-law, Nicholas Zehr, on Wednesday morning, to the East Zorra A.M. Church. Bishop Daniel Iutzi officiated. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
