    Former Ayr resident, Janet Helen (Robson) McDonald, died suddenly at her home in Cambridge on Thursday, November 5th, 1998. Mrs. McDonald was in her 79th year. She was predeceased by her husband Emerson in 1989. Born in Blenheim Township she was a daughter of the late Helen Elizabeth Laing and Murdo McRae Robson. She will be missed by her daughter Marjorie and her husband Larry Ford of Cambridge; son Neil of Princeton; by her grandchildren Marc and his wife Chrystal, Sandy and his wife Sandra and Shaun; seven great-grandchildren; and by her dear friend Christine McDonald of Cambridge. Janet will be also missed by her friends at Kathleen Elliot Court, Cambridge. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers Charlie, Tom and Donald Robson. Mr. and Mrs. McDonald lived for several years on Scott Street, Ayr, and had operated McDonald's Transport and McDonald's Garage. Mr. McDonald was a former reeve of the village Funeral service was held at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral home on Sunday, November 8t.h t 3: 00 p.m. Rev. Douglas Willis officiated. Interment was in Ayr Cemetery.

    Notes:

    Passing of M. M. Robson - The death occurred in Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital on Monday, April 27th, of Murdo McRae Robson, North Dumfries Township, in his 76th year. Mr. Robson suffered a stroke some three weeks ago, after which he was removed to the hospital. Born in Blandford Township, near Bright, he took up farming in this district some 43 years ago, where he had since resided, Mr. Robson was well and favorably known to many friends. He was a Presbyterian in religion, being a member of the Ayr congregation. Besides his widow, whose maiden name was Helen Laing, Mr. Robson is survived by three sons and one daughter, as follows: Thomas, Charles and Donald, all residing near Ayr, and Mrs. Emerson McDonald, Ayr; also by four grandchildren. The funeral will take place from the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor, Ayr, on Thursday, April 30th, at 2.30 p.m. to the Ayr Cemetery.

    Murdo M. Robson

    AYR - A retired farmer, Murdo (Mac) McRae Robson, 75, of RR 1, Ayr, died Monday in the K-W Hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. Mr. Robson was born in Blandford Township, Oxford County. He was Presbyterian. His wife survives. Mr. Robson was born Dec. 19, 1877. Also surviving are three sons, Thomas, Charles and Donald of Ayr district and one daughter, Mrs. Emmerson (Janet) McDonald of Ayr; and four grandchildren. The body is at the Ball Funeral Home where the funeral will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Duncan Farris officiating. Interment will be in Ayr Cemetery

    Death of Thomas Robson - The death took place at Bright on Friday, Dec. 2nd, of Mr. Thomas Robson, in his 83rd year. Deceased was born on the Robson homestead adjoining Ayr, but spent much the greater part of his life on a farm near Bright. A noticeable co-incidence was the death on the same day of his sister-in-law, Mrs. (Rev.) Alex. R. Robson. Mr. Robson was a valued member of the Presbyterian Church at Chesterfield and was a worker in church circles. In politics he was a staunch Liberal, and was highly esteemed in the community as a man of sterling integrity. One son, Mr. Mack Robson, Blenheim, and four daughters survive; also a brother, Mr. Michael Robson, Vancouver, and a sister, Mrs. And. McRae, Glenmorris. The funeral; took place on Monday, when interment was made in the Chesterfield Cemetery.

    On Monday evening, the 19th inst., Mrs John Robson, wife of John Robson, senr. also departed, in her 64th year. Up to the last few months Mrs Robson had enjoyed good health, but since then she has gradually failed, breathing her last at 12 o'clock on Monday evening. An amiable, chrtstian woman, a good wife and loving mother, she leaves behind her a host of friends.

    ANDREW McRAE, farmer, South Dumfries, was born where he now resides, 30th Nov., 1848, and is a son of Murdoch and Ann McRae, natives of Scotland, who emigrated to Canada in 1835, and settled on the farm above mentioned, which consists of 100 acres of well improved land. The father died 22nd March, 1861, and the mother on 30th August, 1877. Andrew, our subject was married 29th Sept., 1871, to Isabella Robinson, who was born in the County of Waterloo, in May, 1847. She was a daughter of John and Isabella Robinson, the former of whom was a native of England, and the latter of Scotland. To Mr. and Mrs. McRae, who are members of the Presbyterian Church, were born two boys and two girls, viz., Isabella Y., Murdoch and Ann (twins), and John D. Mr. McRae has a substantial common school education, and has been so far blessed with prosperity in life. He has a nice comfortable home, and is happy with his little family gathered around him in peace and love.
