    Hendrik (Henk) Van Manen - Peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 14th, 1998, after a courageous battle with cancer, Henk Van Manen of RR 4, Cambridge, died in his 71st year. Born in Ede, Netherlands, he was predeceased by his parents, Marie Schimmel and Antonie Van Manen. Henk was employed by the Waterloo County Board of Education until his retirement in 1994, many of the 17 years were spent working at Highland Public School. Upon retiring he continued with his passion, farming on a fulltime basis. He will be missed by his family; his wife, Ike; his son, Anthony of RR 4, Cambridge; his daughter Jildou and Bill Keith of Kitchener; grandchildren, Christopher, Dana, Leah, Mackenzie, Marlee and Lydia; brothers and sisters, Gerrit and Arisje Van Manen, Fransien Nyhof and Willie Van Veen, all of Holland, Mary and Chester DeVries of Cambridge, Cobie and Gerrit Stomphorst of Milton, Jane and John Gaasbeek of Cambridge, Tony and Sharon of Guelph, Kees and Cecelia of Elmwood, Henny and Doug Eaton of Innerkip, Frank and Brenda of Delta, B.C., John and Dianne of Ayr. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 1998 at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home at 1: 30 p.m. Reverend Ralph Koops of Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, Cambridge, officiating. Interment Ayr Cemetery.

    Anthony Van Manen of Ayr passed away at St. Mary's Hospital. Kitchener on Monday, July 31. 1978. in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Geesje (Zantinge) and dear father of Gerrit of Holland, Hank of Cambridge. Tony of Acton, Kees of New Dundee, Frank of Brantford, John at home. Fransein (Mrs. J. Nyhof) of Holland. Willy (Mrs. A. Van Veen) of Holland. Mary (Mrs. C. DeVries ) of Ayr, Cobi (Mrs. J. Stomphorst) of Milton, Jane (Mrs. J. (Gaasbeek) of Cambridge and Henry (Mrs. D. Eaton ) of Innerkip; dear brother of Dirk of Norwich, Ana Schut and Co DeGraaf, both of Holland: also survived by 32 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Van Manen came to Canada in 1952 and lived at Drumbo before moving to RR 3. Ayr and upon retirement resided at 88 Piper Street. He rested at Coutts and Son Funeral Home until Friday. August 4th when funeral services were held from the First Reformed Church, Cambridge (G). Interment at Ayr cemetery .

    Mrs. Geesje VanManen, formerly of Ayr, passed .away at the Hilltop Manor Nursing Home, Cambridge, on Monday, January 14th. She was in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Anthonie VanManen, dear mother of Gerrit and his wife Arisje of Holland, Fransien Nyhof of Holland, Henk and his wife Ike of RR 4, Cambridge, Willie (Mrs. Aalt VanVeen) of Holland, Mary (Mrs. Chester Devries) of Glen Morris, Cobie (Mrs. Gerrit Stomphorst) of Milton and Jane (Mrs. John Gaasbeek) of Cambridge, Tony and his wife Sharon of RR 1, Guelph, Kees and his wife Cecelia of New Dundee, Henny (Mrs. Doug Eaton) of Innerkip, Frank and his wife Brenda of Delta, B.C. and John and his wife Dianne of Ayr. Loving grandmother to 34 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Survived by 3 brothers and predeceased by 3 sisters. Mrs. VanManen was a member of the Blenheim South Dumfries Farm Women's, the Ayr Senior Citizens and the First Reformed Church for over 30 years. Rested at the Corbett Funeral Home, Gait, where funeral service will take place today (Wed.) at 2 p.m. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
