    Suddenly, at the Brantford General Hospital, on Sunday, Dec. 8, 1974, in his 69th year, John T. Hall, of Ayr, Ont., beloved husband of Hilda Richardson; dear father of Mrs. Glenn (Norma) Labron of Paris and Robert of Ayr; brother of Mrs. Belle Smuck and James T. Hall. both of Ayr; seven grandchildren; predeceased by two infant sons, daughter Lois, in 1951 and brother William, in 1973. Resting at the William Kipp Funeral Home, 11 Jury St., Paris, for service Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 3:30 p.m. Interment in Ayr cemetery.

    Mrs. John T Hall Passes

    A well-known Ayr resident, Mrs. John T. Hall, passed away at Brantford General Hospital on Thursday, January 19th. She was in her 77th year. Born in England, she was the former Hilda Richardson, daughter of the late Emanuel Richardson and Sarah English. The family moved to Canada and took up residence in Richwood where Mr. Richardson was a blacksmith. Upon marriage to John T. Hall, the couple resided on his parental farm, RR 3, Ayr, now owned by Ken Fraser. Some 30 years ago the tlall family moved to Northumberland Street, Ayr. Mrs. Hall was a valued member of Knox United Church, Ayr. She served her church in various capacities which included sitting on the board of managers, a number of years as secretary; Sunday School teacher; member and holder of several offices in the U.C.W. Mrs. Hall was a member of the Blenheim-Dumfries Farm Women's Club and former member of Ayr Women's Institute. She was very talented at needlework with specialties being needlepoint and hairpin lace. She was one of the organizers of the former North Dumfries Arts and Crafts Show which was held for several years. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by three children, Johnny, Billy and Lois and two brothers, Ted and Bill Richardson. Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Glen (Norma) Labron of Paris; a son Robert of Ayr; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters Mrs. Jennie Curtis and Mrs. George (Margaret) Pinkett, both of Paris; two brothers, Bob of Chatham and Jack of Brantford. Rested at the William Kipp Funeral Home, Paris, until Sunday afternoon when funeral service was held at Knox United Church, Ayr. Rev. George Saunders officiated. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.

    James W. Hall - Former Reeve of South Dumfries Passes in His 81st Year - The sudden death occurred on Friday at noon of James W. Hall, prominent and highly esteemed resident of South Dumfries, in his 81st year. Mr. Hall was partaking of the noontime meal when he suddenly expired. A son of Thomas Hall and Ann Turnbull, he was born on the Hall homestead, corner of the 6th concession of South Dumfries and the Paris road, now owned by McKenzie Hall. In his earlier years, Mr. Hall took a prominent part in municipal politics and in the year 1919 headed the polls in the contest for Councillors for South Dumfries Township. He later occupied the Reeve's chair. Mr. Hall was an enthusiastic member of the Ayr Curling Club, in his active years, and was known to devotees of the roarin' game throughout Western Ontario. He was a member of Knox United Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.Currie Smuck, South Dumfries, and three sons, John T. Hall, South Dumfries; William D. Hall and James T. Hall, Paris; also five grandchildren. His wife, whose maiden name was Mary Jane Deans, predeceased him two years ago. - The Funeral - The funeral was held Monday afternoon from his late residence, South Dumfries, to the Ayr Cemetery. There was a large attendance of friends, neighbors and relatives. Numerous beautiful floral tributes bore silent testimony of the respect and esteem in which the deceased was held by a wide circle of friends. The services were conducted by Rev. C. R. Wragge of the Glenmorris United Church, assisted by Rev. J. W. Currie. The pallbearers were: Leslie C. Vincent, Alex T. McRae. Jairus W. Maus, Wm. J. McRuer, Pringle Brown and J. Marshall Gillies.

    Highly Esteemed Resident of South Dumfries Passes in Her 75th Year

    A highly esteemed resident of South Dumfries Township passed away on Monday morning at 4.30 in the person of Mrs. James W. Hall in her 75th year. She had been ill for some considerable time. Mrs. Hall, whose maiden name was Mary Deans, was born on the Deans homestead at Keg Lane, South Dumfries township, being a daughter of Isobel Marshall and John Deans. She was a valued member of Knox United Church and was formerly active in the different women's organizations of the congregation. Besides her husband, James W. Hall, she is survived by the following: One daughter, Mrs. Currie Smuck, (Belle); three sons, William Hall, Paris; John Hall, at home, and James Hall, Camp Borden; two, sisters, Mrs. John Cochrane and Mrs. George Black, Paris; one brother Anthony Deans, Paris, and five grandchildren. The funeral took place this (Wednesday) afternoon to Ayr Cemetery.
